Description
An AD&D monster and hopefully the character I'll play in our next game. I don't know her name yet, but I know she's a rogue.Aranea are big spiders who can take on a humanoid form. They have a hybrid form in which they still have fangs and spinnerets. I spent a lot of time deciding where the spinnerets would be. On a spider, they're located between the anus and the genital opening, but I did not like the idea of describing the process of me making a web while in hybrid form if I put them there. The silk glands are in the abdomen, so I thought what if the silk came out of the "belly button" and the spinnerets were located on each side of it?
I should have made the fangs bigger and creepier on the hybrid form.
They can also take a fully human form but only for a limited amount of time. She wears the huge scarf so she can hide the fangs if she needs to. Not that I think she'll have to a lot, since in the game we're playing, humans are pretty much the bad guys and she's not going to be chilling with them a lot. She'll just hang out with lots of other monsters who shouldn't mind her fangs at all.
Fsck it. I just wanted her to have a giant scarf. She knit it herself, of course.
I just remembered that in spider form, the Aranea have an extra pair of arms with human hands, but they're located under the thorax so you, ah, you just can't see it from this angle. Yeah.
I've decided that male and female Aranea are very hard to tell apart. In spider form, the only external difference is that males tend to be smaller. In hybrid and human forms, they do have the equipment you'd expect, but breasts are small and both males and females are slim and rather feminine. They do not have hair. It should be nearly impossible to tell a male and female apart when they're fully clothed without just asking them. Males don't even have deeper voices.
I've got all kinds of thoughts on their society and customs. Since I can't find any info on Aranea other than the standard stat stuff I figure that means I've got free reign as far as deciding what they're like.

That is -awesome-. The pic, the concept... everything. Don't show Sage though.

You're probably not going to want to see my next thing either. Just remember that Aranea = spiders
