Good goddess, so much to unpack here...
At first I thought you just showed a bunch of pictures to your brother and he made up a bunch of stuff, but he got Cirno and Flandre correct (and he's heard the name "Reimu", though Yukari knows how he attributed it to the other indispensable girl). That indicates to me someone with at least a nodding familiarity with Touhou Project, or at the very least Embodiment of Scarlet Devil, which makes it, at minimum, utterly inexplicable how he could've messed up everyone in EoSD other than Cirno and Flandre. I mean, how do you have any knowledge of Touhou whatsoever and not know who Sakuya is?
He guessed Easter Bunny, Santa Claus, and Cupid, so he at least understands (on a dim, nebulous level) that some of these characters are based on actual mythical figures. (That he's never heard of Prince Shotoku or Inaba of the Moon is only to be expected). SO HOW DOES HE SEE SOMEONE WITH A SCYTHE AND NOT SAY THE GRIM REAPER?? Scythe = Grim Reaper! That should be automatic!
