For the coming wars against the Vaygr and its allies we have constructed dark space shipyards, but in our effort to construct these massive shipyards out side our galaxy....we left out a vital ship for our empire, a transport class vessel.

An originator by the name Vixen (nicknamed Hercules by the locals of a world he crashed landed on) created a transport that can carry not just resources but also act as a smelter, so it can turn the ore in to useful alloys on its way to construction yards and shipyards. These transport ships were able to deploy their cargo in pods which can cloak. Usually used outside mining stations and in far orbit of mining worlds (Mining worlds are planets used to be harvested, usually war devastated, close to a dying star or the planet itself about to explode).

The Hercules type 4, as well as its other types have no armament of any kind but they do have countermeasures (they are disguised as anti fighter missiles but the ammo took up to much space and the CM's are smaller) and a few of these transports have been outfitted with a either a cloaking device or a shield, even both but with several energy issues. The original type 1 and 2 were as said before unarmed with only countermeasures. But it is said the type 3 was lost along with a few other projects and especially a shipyard (The Metal garden of clan Drey Mo) . The type 3 was going to be built with a larger cargo hold, stronger armor, better radar systems, comm array, powerful gen 711 engines and it was going to carry a small railgun that can take out fighters, corvettes and even cripple frigates but all was lost to a supposed pirate assault. Unfortunately since this loss we had to make due with what info we had so we were only able to make the frame slightly larger for the cargo hold, install a better radar and comm's array.

To get supplies to our dark space shipyards we had to get past a heavily defended Vaygr system, we may have attempted to go through a nebula South of this region but there are odd ships spotted there and along with the constant electrical storms our Lord fleet commodore of that time did not want to risk any ships. North wasn't any better with skirmishes between Vaygr and Taiidani forces until it happened. (See most eastern part of Galaxy, 200 light year supernova explosion- The Embor incident) Since this galactic event the Vaygr clans in that part of the galaxy have been (and are still in disarray) we sent all of our transports to our dark space shipyards and from there we built up our fleet and waited.
