You have done an amazing job with the lighting effects. Both with the light source from the sewer tunnel behind the boys as well as the ambient light from Aprils' left. The way you have the two colours blending in the center draws the eye to the front right making the eye scan the entire picture. Definitely an interesting take on the boys.
Would they be sentient zombies or would the ninja training be that ingrained into them that, as with Leo in the center, it becomes second nature to the body itself? You have done a wonderful job with Leo's arm/bone detail as well as the cracks in the plastron. I agree with ~oldmanwinters that the teeth on the left turtle also are very well done. Not too sure if that is Mikey or Raphael from first glance.
I normally don't care too much for Zombie things as they are quite over done right now & some are very violent/gory but you have done just enough with the color combinations and character layout to make it quite a captivating image. Very good job.

I was kinda wondering about the "ambient light from April's left." I was curious as to what the light source might be. Perhaps a sneaky trap set up by April, Splinter, and Casey to zap the Turtles with a de-zombifying ray? hehe (anything's possible in the TMNT-verse, right?)
Even though the two light sources confused me, I do like the overall look. It just adds another layer of three-dimensional depth to the piece.

I was thinking it was one of those caged lights or an emergency light of some kind that had been set up for sewer workers. It reminds me of the back of a warehouse in the middle of the night. The yellow/orange glow from a street or dock light can give it quite a creepy feeling. It does a a nice touch to the dimension of the piece.
That would be an interesting device, and i would not put it past Don to create something like that, but seeing as Mikey has a hole clean through his abdomen and is missing a large chunk of his head, not to mention Raphael is missing his left arm and right side. Would it be a really good idea to bring them back? But you never know.

Wow. Thanx for very detailed analysis of this art! This drawing-style is unusual for me. Mostly, I do lineart at first and then add colors and lighting. This is experiment and I glad it was apparently successful

Oh, yes, I LOVE this!
The arm bones on Leo and the teeth on Mikey (on the far left, I think) are really good. And you've got some nice details on April's face and jumpsuit that give it a real sense of depth.
It's quite a dark twist. Usually the Turtles always arrive in the nick of time to save April from whatever peril she's gotten herself into. But this time, the tables have turned on the snooping reporter!

Thanks for clearing that up about the Turtles' placement. I wasn't sure if the sai handle was part of a nunchaku or not.
