Iris was my second-ever custom to begin, but my first to finish. I bought three Nendoroids with the intent of making Chise Hatori - and by sheer coincidence, all the leftover parts were perfect for making Iris.
As you can see, there was plenty of trial and error along the way. If you're just getting into customization, or thinking about it, don't be afraid to fuck up. That's part of learning.
