Ah the time when she battled a corrupted Jasper fusion, that was honestly one of the most tense and scary parts of the story. And it also gave Erica a real chance to look vulnerable and badass at the same time. Because like Ellen Ripley, she can survive the alien--but does she really want to spend her saturday fighing off a horny hellbeast? It's a thankless job but someone has to do it.
And this really captures that moment of silence, the picture is deceptively peaceful but taken with the story, it brings back a fuckton of memories.

The more I write the more I realize that it's all about how we think about things. Running from the fusion both Erica and Connie were high on adrenaline and only thought of escape, then when it all calmed down they scrabbled for the illusion of safety in an unfamiliar environment. Erica found it in building the shelter and Connie trusted Erica and was reassured by her being an adult and being in charge. It IS all about perspective.
Erica constantly has to rethink things and adjust to new events in Stay - I think that's why I've been able to write it for so long

And that's the thing, I fucking love how Erica is always changing. The world of Stay is always challenging her. It's what makes the story so awesome.
In my own persona life i'm always challenged, always on my toes and always learning and feeling new things. To see that in a story makes it a hundred times better than it otherwise could have been.
When it comes to stories, I can really only compare Stay to one Steven Universe fanfiction and maybe the Dune series. It's just good and the constant change of the character and her world is what keeps me coming back.
