Meh, lame title, sorry about that.This is a bit of a continuation of what's happening in this doodle here: [link]
The story in a nutshell: Heather picked up a pair of magic bracers from Aurum's store during a sale. Turns out they were cursed >.> She tried to take them off, but they were already melding with her, and the scales spread. She tried various means to get the curse off, but Aurum was away on vacation for a week, and so the curse slowly but relentlessly worked its course until she ended up as you see her above. Quite a sight, eh? Let's hope Aurum has the means to return her to normal! Otherwise, there's going to be fresh wizard-venison for dinner...

My question is does she have to stay wet to survive? I don't recall the city being anywhere near saltwater.

Thankfully she manages just fine in fresh water. ;3 And I don't think so, she's still human for the most part... but it sure isn't comortable to stay dry! The bathtub is serving as a make-shift tank. >.>

I was wondering how they keep coming up with all the necessary additions or subtractions to their clothing to work with the bodily changes. You do "curse melding" quite well, but I've seen a lot less in the way of costume design out of you. As for this lady, very nifty. I can't think of the name of the fish people from AD&D right off hand, but that was what I thought of when you mentioned the bracers in that first sketch. Sorry to say that with this one the first thought that came to mind was "Captain Kirk did a green one..." but then I've never tried to say I didn't have that sort of mind...

*noogies* Bad Kat! Bad! XD And yeah, but with these kind of images, the point is more in the anatomy than the clothing. Besides, she probably wouldn't be wearing much anyways, since it'd get soaked in the tub!
But I won't deny costume design isn't one of my stronger points. XD

So fish is even more literal than I had first supposed. That's really got to be bad on them! As far as costume design, don't get me wrong. You do very appropriate work, solid and dependable. The sort of animation I could see your characters being thrust into would demand the best basics in clothing that transfers from storyboard to motion easiest. And I've seen you throw soul into their clothing when it really counts. So, it's not that you can't do it and do it well, as much as you pay more attention to the way they're really going to move under all that wrapping. One of those things that make your work "plausible" in my eyes, and really good to my senses. Hey, I don't commission just anyone you know...

No no XD This is more a character design picture than anything, and I wanted to show her scaley skin. The undergarments are to keep it PG-13 ;3
