Updated Art and Lore for the SwanepillarOriginal by crocopossum >> www.deviantart.com/evoloonbot/…
Lore & Info
Swanepillar are a species of Loonian waterfowl similar in size and appearance to an Earth swan. They have large, round eyes, a long slender neck, round body, and 8 legs. The skeleton of a swanepillar consists only of a skull, a spine, and a ribcage. Their legs do not have any bones in them and are very squishy and flexible. They are covered in smooth waterproof feathers and have a singular small pad at the bottom of each foot. Wild swanepillar are usually one solid color, with an orange and black beak. Swanepillar in a flock tend to be similar in color to each other.
Swanepillar love to be in water, but they are not very good swimmers. They are naturally buoyant with very short legs, so any mildly strong water current can easily toss them around. Because of this they tend to live in water sources that are not connected to any rivers, such as swamps, marshes, and ponds. From a distance swanepillar appear to serenely float atop the water’s surface, almost indistinguishable from an Earth swan if not for the bright colors and large eyes. Beneath the water a swanepillar’s chunky legs are hard at work furiously kicking away. On land they move in an inchworm fashion and are unsurprisingly slow.
Swanepillar are famous for having extreme reactions to evoloons. Most of the time a wild swanepillar will loudly hiss and bite at any evoloon that dares get close to it. However every so often a swanepillar will imprint on an evoloon instead. An imprinted swanepillar will become obsessed with the evoloon. It will leave it’s flock in the wild and will even change it’s colors to become more visually similar to the evoloon. An evoloon that finds themself with an imprinted swanepillar will have a hard time going anywhere or doing anything without the swanepillar tagging along.
Fun Facts
- Due to an imprinted swanepillar’s dedication to its owner and aggression towards any other evoloon they tend to be very good guard dogs.
- The only way to remedy an imprinted swanepillar’s constant neediness is to find even more swanepillar to become their new flock. The flock will spend most of their time with one another, but the evoloon will still be the imprinted swanepillar’s favorite being. Thankfully, any swanepillar hatched from an egg is much less likely to be as aggressive as a wild caught one.
Design Rules
- General anatomy must be similar to what is depicted above
- The swanepillar’s colors must match the colors of the evoloon who owns it. Colors can be taken from anywhere on the evoloon, even the eyes and mouth.
- Color placement does not have to match
- The design does not change if traded.
