Description For the Knights of the Wrong Table, Chrystine is a godsend. Many normal blacksmiths don't want anything to do with an order filled with monsters, which is a problem when you need armor patched up and weapons forged. True, several members of the order know a little bit of this and that about blacksmithing, but sometimes you need a real master to get the job done right. Not only is Chrystine an incredible blackmsith, she is also happy to serve anyone who comes into cave/store. With this, the order now goes to her whenever they need a big forging project done or when they need to purchase some new tools for their business. However, there are some things the order has to keep in mind when it comes to visiting Chrystine. While she is a great craftsman and a warm, kind person, there can be some...issues if proper precautions aren't taken. So here are the things all Knights of the Wrong Table members should remember before heading out to buy a new sword or get some fancy armor forged:

1. Make sure Stomas or any crew members of the Sea Goblin aren't there. So far they are not aware that Chrystine helps both them and the order, and it is preferred that it stays that way. No one is sure what would happen if Captain Stomas found out one of his part-time crew members is helping the enemy, but no one wants Chrystine to get in any trouble for her generosity.

2. Already know what you want before you go to her shop. She gets quite excitable when customers arrive and if they look like they are browsing or unsure what they want she will bombard them with recommended weapons and sales pitches. Even if you do know what you want she still may do this, so be prepared.

3. No buying Chrystine patented weaponry. You either get yours repaired or you buy regular old weapons. Chrystine is a genius in the field of blacksmithing, but her "unique" designs and imaginative creations are disasters waiting to happen. Do recall what happened with the spring-loaded warhammer flail.

4. Do not take Korgin with you. In fact, Korgin is no longer allowed to go to Chrystine's shop. Everyone knows how excited he gets around weaponry, and he is always eager to add stuff to his already obscenely large collection (we still don't know where his bed is in his room). Children in candy shops are more manageable than him, and it will take every bit of strength and patience you have to drag him out. If you fail to keep him away, double check every pocket and compartment he has to make sure he isn't smuggling some weapon with him. Do recall what happened with that hammer flail he bought.

5. Don't give her any ideas or go "wouldn't it be cool if..?" because she will totally go and make it. Her unique weapons are already a potential safety hazard for herself and everyone in the vicinity, and the last thing we need to do is encourage her to the point of injury. Ideas or suggestions for some changes to your armor or weapons is fine, but do not pitch ludicrous weapon designs to her because she either can't detect sarcasm or she takes any suggestion as a challenge. Selena has already been reprimanded for breaking this rule and inadvertently creating the Twin Fire Ax Launcher (complete with goblet holder and a compass in the stock).

More dumb comic stuff! Boy, Telnus never gets a break in these things.

WOOHOO! More comics!

Fo-ly whuck, looks like at this rate she's going to invent something like John Silver's arm from Treasure Planet in only a few months! I honestly think that a double club staff like this one with the big spike and a few hidden extra tools aren't too bad of an experimental weapon, but i don't think it's out of the question that the mechanisms for the title extra tools in the club head could break-- not to mention that some of the weapons talked about in that description sound like utter madness.

I do really love Chrystine's facial expressions here, and Telnus' body language is pretty nice to see as well. Always a pleasure to see a new little comic page, man!

Sadly I don't think her homemade prosthetics would be nearly as functional as his arm, but they would certainly work in the destruction department. The club staff is definitely one of her more toned down inventions, as she creates some pretty wild stuff. The running theme of her unique weapons is that they are quite complex and over designed, but they could be effective if wielded by an expert or a person with the right anatomy. Unfortunately, those who aren't trained or ready for such tools will most likely maim themselves while using them. Like the dual club staff could be used in the manner of a pugil stick and it would be a decent weapon, but then you throw in a nunchuck mode which would probably knock your own teeth out if you tried to use it.

And thanks! This comic was a practice with facial and body expressions, and I am happy with how it came out.

I see. Still, would be impressive if she one day managed to create such a thing!
It's pretty mad that a double club-like weapon like this one with all the little things and mechanics inside them is to be considered "toned-down"... I guess i shouldn't be surprised if one day she manages to make a multi-headed axe that is better used as a kind of flanged hammer that could become a kind of chain whip at a moment's notice, all the while being on fire and having a mace head consisting of multiple spinning spiky rings on the other end of the weapon's shaft.
That's an interesting bit about "the right anatomy". That makes me wonder what kind of creatures her weapons would be perfect for.
Ah, chain weapons... often more harmful to the user than to the enemy, but it does look awesome and has quite the destructive power behind it!

You're very welcome, man  Glad that you're happy with it yourself as well!

Often her craziest inventions are not for sale at first, as she says that they still need fine tuning and perfecting. The truth is her friends and coworkers inform her that it isn't best to sell weapons that are extremely volatile and prone to mauling the user. So instead her toned-down ones are the ones that make it to her store front, but still not many people buy them. A flaming hammer ax mace flail is a total possibility with her, as she would see it as an all-in-one weapon for any occasion!

The proper anatomy would vary between weapons. The spring-loaded and kinetic weapons would mostly work for creatures that lack bones, as these tools would probably obliterate your wrist bones when they go off. Some would call for multiple arms and others a very thick exoskeleton so that you don't get harmed by the shrapnel that goes flying.

I see. At least she kind of takes that advice to heart. I assume only masochists would ever want to buy her weapons, or people that want to trick their enemies in weapons that are much more harmful to themselves than to their opponents.
Man, that really is madness...

Obliterating wrist bones-- that's, uh, not very nice. Even still, that does sound very interesting! I wouldn't be surprised if one of these days, Ver'rahl or another sorcerer or something manages to create creatures that are actually designed for wielding such weapons and are very skilled at using them, making them unique opponents and bodyguards for their weapons are so odd and strange that nobody could create proper training courses for taking down opponents wielding such dangerous weapons.

EvolutionsVoid In reply to KingOfWarlocks [2019-04-22 21:37:34 +0000 UTC]

It would probably be another sorcerer, as Ver'Rahl isn't really a people person nor a kind customer. Or it could be some beings from beyond, whose anatomy doesn't have to worry about such things like bones or recoil. With an alien anatomy like that, those weapons could be quite viable!

KingOfWarlocks In reply to EvolutionsVoid [2019-04-23 19:00:00 +0000 UTC]

I see. Makes me wonder what kind of sorcerer would be able to create entirely new beings with anatomies designed around using these crazy weapons. Perhaps a being that is some sort of "flesh-farmer" or "flesh-former", or something of the like.
It would be interesting to see such beings from beyond! If a few of Yir's acquaintances from such realms ever managed to make it into the world of the Knights and they have just the right anatomy, i think Chrystine would be very happy to actually see the stuff she's being made to good use by the right customers.

It would probably still land in the realm of necromancers, at least more creative ones than the usual zombie makers. Perhaps some witches could brew up some magical entities, like Agatha's Slime Golems, that could withstand the design of the weapons. Chrystine would be happy to sell these things to literally anyone, as right now she is getting quite the stockpile of unbought weapons! If there was only some way she could tap into the Beyond market, than maybe she would have better luck!

KingOfWarlocks In reply to EvolutionsVoid [2019-04-24 13:06:07 +0000 UTC]

That makes me think that maybe some people would pick up Necromancy not out of spite, hate or malice, but because they see it as a creative outlet for their talents. Like messed-up artists or something of the like.
Entities made out of slime would probably be the safest option as servants to use these weapons, as they can contort their bodies into odd ways and not experience as much damage to themselves if they were to hit themselves with the weapons on account of having no bones to break. They still have that one organ that acts as their brain if i remember correctly, though.
I would wish her luck in finding a way to bring such creatures here, but judging by the kinds of ingredients that secret cult used to (accidentally) summon Yir, i don't think that would be an easy task. And she'd probably get distracted by creating more weapons anyway, come to think of it.

Right you are! Though necromancy has a lot of stigmas and a horrible reputation (though mostly for good reason), the actual art and magic behind it isn't downright evil. Raising a skeleton is just the same as shooting fireballs or summoning a magical blade, it is just that the subject matter tends to rope in the wrong crowd. Someone can be just a normal mage and totally practice this art without being evil, but delving into more dangerous routes and the inevitable "what ifs" can lead people to do some horrible things.

Slimes would certainly be safer with these weapons, they would just have to be sure to have a hardened body and a real firm grip. For some of her more kinetic or explosive tools, they could launch themselves right through their limbs or even shoot right through their body if they don't hold tight enough. They wouldn't be harmed, sure, but it doesn't help in a fight when your weapon flies across the battlefield.

Yeah, she wouldn't actually think about summoning them, as she is too busy in her forge. Her best chance would be to hook up with an entity that is already on this plane and use them as a connection, but most of them disguise themselves or have no interest in dealing with the natives. And Yir is not the fighting type and is busy with his own art.

Sounds like she would go absolutely bananas if she got her hands on some of the weapons, armor and artifacts I created:
Sargasso Supplement: ItemsMain Page: Sargasso, The Ever-Changing City
Related Article: Items Part 2
Some supplementary material to add to this setting besides characters and their stories, and there may or may not be more of these for different aspects of Sargasso. So for this part, I'm going to throw out some items that one could feasibly find in the Sea. These weapons I am releasing into the public domain under the Creative Commons 0 license, so do as you wish with them. Also, if you have your own ideas for artifacts to add to this list, please comment below and I'll add them to the list.
If you need some inspiration, here is a link to a Random Loot Generator to give you some ideas:
http://orteil.dashnet.org/randomgen/?gen=loot.txt
Edit (11/5/2018): Added 10 more items to the list. From 111 Sargasso Supplement: Items part 2Main Articles: Sargasso, The Ever-Changing City

Items part 1
Well apparently I can't fit anymore items in the previous list, so I have to make a part 2 to the list. Starting from number 121. And again, all of these items are in the public domain, legally speaking under Creative Commons 0, so you can do whatever you wish with them.
If you want to create your own artifacts, Here's a pair of websites that you can go to for some ideas:
Museum of Artifacts
Artifact P**n
Edit (4/7/2019): Added 10 new items to the list. From number 241 to 250. Also I have a pair of links above which lead to two sites that contain many different artifacts

That she would! Then at some point she would probably try to "improve" on their designs by essentially trying to fuse a couple of them together. The results would be messy, chaotic, but probably pretty funny.
