Description
For those who walk the shores or fish the seas at night, they must be wary of the dead who lurk within the waves. Shambling things cloaked in sopping vegetation, drowned rotted bodies boasting heads of seaweed in place of their own. To those who dwell near the water, they are known as the Draug. Stories claim that these horrid things are formed by the spirits of drowned mariners, and that they seek to share their terrible fate with others. Their grossly elongated arms reach from the waves, seeking victims to drag down into the deep. The weeds that bind their body may be used to tangle the feet of those who wade through the waters, giving the Draug time to grab hold and pull them under. Even those who sit in their boats are not safe from these malevolent beings. Their arms may reach upward to tip their boats, or yank poor souls overboard. A favorite trick of theirs when hunting fishermen is to target their fishing lines and snare the hooks in their clumpy heads. Believing that their lines are caught on some simple seaweed, the fisher shall paddle closer to untangle them. When they lean over the side to free their hooks, the cruel arms of the Draug will burst forth and take them. Down in the murky darkness, they shall join the Draug in death and soon their corpses shall join them in the hunt...----------------------------------------
Wouldn't be Halloween without some mythical undead! From the sources I saw, these drowned variations are called Draugs, but I am sure they can also be called Draugrs as well. I also added some special touches to their design and backstory, because why not!
