Hold up, it just means "fir tree?" Just straight up fir tree? It's not referencing to some spirit or something of folklore, just "tree?!" I thought it was some winter spirit, Old Man Winter and what not! Some being you sing to and say prayers and so on, bless thy harvest, make thy winter jolly and may Abraham four fields over get eaten by wolves! Why else do you call them "Old Tannenbaum?!" Wait, the word isn't "Old" it's "Oh?!" For goodness sake!
