You warn your young of our 'cruelty' and 'lies,' but you still leave them our tomes in case they need us. How is it, dear mortal, that you despise and worship us so? You do everything you can to ignore our existence and banish us from your world, yet you still come running in droves to beg for our help. The tales you weave claim we deceive and entrap, but you ignore the fact that we only arrive at your summons. Our law says that we cannot enter without your word, that we cannot interfere without your permission. The deals we craft are made with your tongue, and signed with your hand. By the eyes of the Watchtowers, that is our law and we must follow it. The suffering and death you rave about is brought on by your actions, your own greed. You take what we offer and refuse to pay for it, then you cry and beg when we come to collect.

If it is our vengeance you fear, then why not burn our tomes and forget our ceremonies? Why do you not destroy these artifacts that you hide in the dusty cellars and forgotten corners?
