Description

Korgin Sprigs (LARP Name: Chimeros the Destroyer) - Fairy Knight - Korgin is exactly what his name implies, a fairy (Though this is a title that applies to many different species), but not one most people expect. For most of his life, he lived in the magical, yet mysterious, Ilium Forest, a sacred protected place where few humans have tread. Since fairies are forbidden to leave the forest, which leads to permanent banishment if they do, the fairies within needed to find ways to entertain themselves. Some turned to arts, some to mischief, but him and his friends turned to games. Using wood and rocks, they made many different games to amuse themselves. They started with checkers, chess, tic-tac-toe, but then quickly escalated in more complex games, all to keep them amused. They invented new games, new adventures and new rules. Soon the games lasted for hours, then days, as they fought boredom and strived to be the best. It wasn't long, though, when the games were no longer fun to him. He was a master at chess, and could beat you in two moves in Hak-Pik-You, and any other games were a walk in the park. Bored out of his skull, he finally snapped and went outside the forest to find a new game. But a few days of searching brought nothing new and he went back home. But he found he no longer could go back to the forest, the Elders had banished him. Forced out of the only place he knew and shoved into a strange new world, he became desperate to find something familiar, something he could play. The humans all had games he already mastered, he needed something new. During his searching he came across a sign that spoke of an order that was inviting anyone to come and become a knight. It spoke of adventure, fun, danger and many other things. It was called the Knights of the Wrong Table. The name sounded familiar to him, he once played a game with his friends that involved the Knights of some-shaped Table. Reading more about the order, he saw that it had teams, missions and adventures, which translated in his mind to "game." Excited to find a brand new game to play, he rushed over to the order and asked to join. They signed him up, and Korgin was ecstatic to be a part of a multiplayer, live action game with missions, monsters and loot.

  • Attitude - Korgin lives like everything is a competition. What causes this is his belief that the Knights of the Wrong Table is a live-action game, where you live the game. This makes every job given to him some challenge that he needs to best. And he not only has to beat that challenge, but he has to be the best at it. Extremely competitive, he can become quite boastful as he fights or accomplishes anything. He commonly shows off and always needs to find a way to one-up his last performance. This causes him to take on very difficult scenarios, and try to complete them in ridiculous ways. Since this is all a game to him, he honestly does not think that members of the order can die, not really. This whole game is staged and even though the bad guys can hurt you, none can or will actually kill you. This can cause him to not take scenarios seriously at times, especially when he is confident that he can accomplish them with ease. What further backs up this belief is his refusal to lose. As an intense, competitive gamer, failure is not an option. Any scenario can be beaten, and no matter how bad things can get, there is always a way out. A master at games, he is excellent with strategy and planning, knowing how to strike or when to strike for maximum efficiency. He can think-ahead for multiple "turns" and seemingly know how people will react to his actions. And with his love for games comes a love for loot. Every winner gets his share in the reward, and the reward is what he wants. Gold, armor, weapons, pieces of animals and various things he collects and hoards during their mission, refusing to part with a single bit. To him, every fallen enemy has to have something to loot, and he is bewildered by why his "teammates" never seem to check. With his hoard of goods, he trades, sells and "upgrades" his stuff, all with the belief that it will help him later. He can always be found comparing his current armor and weapons to those he finds, seemingly able to determine which ones are better to equip. No matter how many times Vikus tells him it is not about the treasure, everyone knows that Korgin will have his loot sacs filled with goodies before anyone even knew there was something shiny in the room. The competitiveness he has during missions transfers to any kind of game, from cards to checkers. A master of almost any game, he knows hundreds of different rules and play styles, and his self-made games usually take hours to play. And these simple games are all out war for him, taking things way too seriously for anyone else who plays with him. To top it all off, he can be quite a sore loser.
  • Relations - To many of his fellow members, he can come off rather cocky and annoying, but there are few who actually dislike him. Telnus is very annoyed by his gaming attitude and his fiery passion to be the best of them all. He sees Korgin as just a whiner and child, getting obsessed over stupid things. Rodrick loathes Korgin because he doesn't seem to take his knightly duties seriously, and acts like it is all a game. The others are fine with him, but occasionally his boasting and competitiveness can wear down those with shorter tempers, like Goregok and Reknir. Though he and Otis are on good terms, he often ignores his advice or doesn't take him seriously. He often has a good time with Selena, who enjoys a good challenge or a bit of danger.
  • Partner - Dryad Knight - Dryad Knight and Korgin almost seem to be made for each other. Both have a great interest in adventures and quests, and love exploring the world. Fairy Knight's interest in games and adventure match well with Dryad Knight's love of learning new things and traveling. The two can talk for hours about adventures, tales and quests. It also helps that the two of them are extreme hoarders, with her collecting souvenirs and him gathered upgrade materials. This desire for adventure and upbeat attitudes have the two of them happy to take long-distance missions, or even dangerous ones. Fairy Knight helps his partner out by being aerial support, keeping an eye out for enemies or taking out foes in hard to reach places. For overcoming obstacles, he always carries her, with him carrying her by her pack or her arms. When lifting her by the pack, she can use her bow and arrows to take shots at foes down below. He is also the main strategist of the group, coming up with the attack plans. Despite working with her for long periods of time, he often gets nervous around her when things get personal. There are times he thinks she is getting too emotional or that she is, in some odd way, hitting on him. None of these things are true, as Merrill is just an open person who is comfortable around everyone. Korgin's social skills and judge of character are the real concern.
  • Abilities - Korgin is capable of flight, despite the lack of wings on his body. His method of flight seems to be some form of floating, with him able to suspend himself in the air with little effort. He can move in any direction without issue, moving up, down and backwards just fine. Weather can affect his flight, with heavy winds tossing him about and storms lowering his visibility and control. The act of basic floating takes little energy, him able to hover above ground and move without tiring. It is his equivalent of walking. But flying fast or rapidly gaining altitude is like a sprint for him, taking the wind out of him as well as requiring more energy use. He can only fly up so high before the thin air and the effort gets to him, forcing him to gently float back to the ground so he can recover. If he ascends too fast, he can blackout from lack of oxygen, and he will plummet back to the earth. When he is unconscious, his ability is off and he will hit the ground.
  • Tools - Korgin's tools constantly vary, as he switches out armor types and weapon types for each mission, like how one would switch crayons for coloring a picture. His weapons can be any type, swords, axes, clubs, hammers, etc. And his armor always varies in style and composition. He switches them out to better fit the mission he is going on, and many times tosses out ones when he gets new ones, or "upgraded" ones. The only constant he has is that when on missions, he always has at least four weapons on him. He also frequently wears a set of fake wings, because he is sick of people asking him why he doesn't have wings. At first he thought people were joking with him when they thought fairies had butterfly wings, but after dozens of people questioning his species, he straps on a false set just to shut them up.
  • Weaknesses - Korgin does not have any crippling weaknesses like some of his other teammates. His weaknesses are like that of a humans. His flight can be hindered by weather and wind, but this will not kill him.

I wonder if he's ever gotten it into his head that he can "craft" new weapons with treasure he's found?

I imagine he has tried, thinking he has found a way to change the game, but instead found out he is really bad at making stuff. It is bad enough that his "upgrades" to weapons usually involve strapping on teeth and iron pieces.
