Suzu the Sazae-oni and Serena the Siren hanging out together on their little spit of a rock. Just waiting around in the ocean for another ship to come by. And might as well keep up appearances!Trying to do some more backgrounds and bigger pictures, rather than characters in a void. And heck, there will be some color coming soon in some of them!

A few tips since you're working on backgrounds and stuff:
1. Remember to "wrap around" details like cracks, otherwise they can make a surface look flat when it isn't supposed to be(the rock in this picture)
2.A similar concept goes for the ripples coming from the tail in the foreground. Think of how a circle when viewed from an angle becomes more oval-shaped.
Otherwise, good job! I like the little island in the background
