Description
As they rested in the crooked trees above, something slid through the murky waters below. Hidden in the muck of the swamp, and cloaked in sticky layer of something most foul, it crawled its way towards the nests. With feathers of bronze and beaks of iron, they slept confidently in their roosts, waiting for great warriors and greater fools to bumble into their territory. Little did they suspect that the hunched creature below was setting its sights upon them. Once it settled itself in an open spot, it brought its spindly limbs together and brought forth a horrid cacophony. A clattering roar that sprang from grinding limbs and ridged ribs, sending the slumbering birds into a panic. They took to the air, seeking both escape and the source of their terror. Such a move ultimately proved to be a mistake. With the accuracy of an archer, it spat gobs of clotted slime into the air and onto its victims. The force of these gooey missiles faltered them, and the syrupy texture ruined their wings. Those it struck fell back to the earth, where they struggled and floundered in the foul bog. Those free of its slime retaliated with a rain of bronze feathers, but such an attack proved futile. Its tough exoskeleton was already a match for their weapons, but its layer of slime snared these razor shards and rendered them useless. In time, its precise spit brought down more and more, until the few survivors dropped their offense and fled for their lives. Free from its attackers and prey, it turned its eyes towards its victims that were trapped upon the earth. Many who fell into the swamp waters had already drowned, but a few others still squawked and fought. This was no bother to the humped beast, as their cries would not last long...

Another anti-myth monster here, one that hunts the deadly Stymphalian Birds! Posting this little fella to keep the art flowing a little as I continue on the roller coaster of my new job training. Hopefully I will be able to return to my home soon after all these weeks!
