Description

The Vocal Boogie (Envirus voclo) is in the genus of Boogies that set their territory in outdoor environments. They set up their home boundaries in untraveled areas, like wooded lots, abandoned houses and mines. They stay in these dens during the day, though they do not sleep through the whole day like other Boogies. They use this time for interaction, playing and grooming of other den mates. When night comes, the pack leaves the den and travels along their feeding route. The feeding route is a circuit that goes around numerous houses, which they go to each night. When they reach a house, they use their mimicking skills to create a series of sounds. The large horn on their head and complex vocal chords can mimic a large variety of sounds, from the howling of the wind, to the sound of branches scratching on a window. The tubes and gills that run along their body allow them to breath in while they vocalize. The bulbous end of their tail is like the rattle on a rattlesnake, it is used in their vocalizations, territory disputes and mating ceremonies. They use the vocalizations to scare the residents of the house, consuming their fear. Vocal Boogies can also consume meat to supplement their diet. They use their pack structure and mimic skills to confuse and down prey for consumption.
Vocal Boogies live in a pack structure similar to wolves, with an alpha male and female. All genders have the horns on their heads, but only males have the tail rattle. The whole pack raises the young, using the daytime hours to play and teach the young. The young Boogies do not have full control over their vocalizations and horn, making ridiculous sounds and imperfect mimics. They must practice and have the teachings of an adult to fully master their skill.
