Description
When the seas grow dark and the waters hide lurking dangers, the tales will arise. As they huddle in their grottoes and nests, waiting for safer times to arrive, they shall speak of the horrors that haunt the open seas. The adults shall speak with bafflement and worry, while the young listen with terrified curiosity. Of creatures that cannot be explained, of monstrosities caught in glimpses and shadows. One such story speaks of strange armored beasts that suddenly appear in the deep, one of claws and many eyes. Its shape is bizarre and awkward, and its colors blinding and vile. As it glides through the water with malformed fins, it stares with its unblinking eyes. Witnesses claim they have no mouths, yet they stalk other creatures and probe the reefs in search. When they spot a suitable target, they will follow them and watch them silently. So far the stories say that these watchers are not hostile, but that seems to make them all the more unsettling. They just stare. And then they eventually vanish, leaving no trace of their existence. Some believe these tales to be false, as no one has ever found a carcass of this beast or ever located their nest. They also appear to have no way to eat, so how could one possibly survive? Despite some non-believers, many fear these strange watchers. They claim that their gaze is certain doom, cursing those who meet its terrible sight. It is said that if you are ever gazed upon by these alien creatures, you will vanish one day, taken by some cruel unseen force. While it is true that such disappearances can be caused by many other things, the fear and unease around these beasts make them easy targets. The deep sea hides many horrors, but they all pale in comparison to those that may lurk in the void above.------------------------------------------
Squeezing in one last entry for mermay here. May not technically be a mermaid once again, but it relates to them and the horror stories they may tell one another. The seas seem scary to us for they are not our homes, so what must they think of us?

Do I seen somewhere before? O.o I know I remember like a nasty robot drone that patrols in the deep sea telling like "I want your blood" in some SciFi horror game.

Maybe SOMA? That is a horror game set in the deepsea with crazed robot things.

Oh yeah that game, I remember! This game it's a beauty, but terrifying.
I haven't played this game like a 1/2 year ago. Those badass nasty robots that are swimming first time when Simon it's first time diving stranded in the sea. I believe I remember that those nasty robots when approach, they keep telling "please man, I really need your share of your blood". And... If you ignore for amount of time, they get angry, I WANT IT! And they get crazy like if your trying to out run that thing saying "I CAN HEAR YOU...!" and some other things, nasty words. You'll know what's gonna happen.

I've never thought before about how creepy ROVs would seem if you didn't know anything about them... I've sure thought about it now!

It is an interesting concept, and I figured it was the closest to an alien encounter the undersea world could have! On the flipside, I always thought it would be a neat horror concept where the beings down below send their own equivalent of an ROV to our world, curious and alarmed of the strange beings from above.

Perhaps! Or maybe a beast from above, from that weird empty void!
Wait, Kaijune is a thing? Crap! I will try! I got some ideas kicking around that would work!

Exactly, but they don't now that. They just see some weird crustacean thing swimming about staring at things with its creepy unblinking eyes. Then suddenly they are gone.

It appear that harmless things are creepier, the things that want to kill you are more predictable.

I always thought those deep sea robotic exploration crafts looked a little like a creature of some sort!
I love how you took the mechanical parts, and converted them, rather creatively into an organic creature.

They did for me as well! They pretty much have all the anatomy save for a digestive system! And thanks! I liked the idea of others misinterpreting them as living things, despite their odd shape and composition.

True! though, I am also curious as to see what's on the other end of it's "Tail."
