etain named it venku cuz kal didnt want darman to know. then they all met up and started talking baby names and dar said he liked the name Kad so etain and kal changed his name. its at the end of "true colors"

Ok I didn't read it entrirely. But I thought Darman didn't know about his baby before Order 66 ?

he didnt. Kal had venku in his arms saying that it was his grandson and everyone besides the people who knew that it was etain's baby, thought that it was from his original family. Omega squad started talking about names and darman said that he liked the name Kad.

Do you know why he got the nickname Scorch? He kind of went a little crazy with explosives during a training op...and he and the training instructor had no eyebrows for a while.

Awww~ Scorch is my favorite, most definitely. I love how he's so light-hearted and funny. Plus he shares a voice with my childhood crush, Carth Onasi, so there's a bit of nostalgia value there. Though I'm ashamed to admit it, I squeal a little whenever he talks. But then Fixer's like "Shut up, Scorch."

I didn't play Kotor in english, so I just CAN'T imagine Carth (the serious guy, always complaining) with Scorch's funny and happy voice. In French, Carth has a deeper voice, not the same as Scorch at all.

Really? Huh. Don't worry, Carth is equally whiny in Scorch's voice. xD; Try Youtubing Carth's english voice?

I've just heard it o_o aaarg! It's SO different from the french voice... I think the french one suits him better XD more mature, deeper... but with the english one, he seems more funny, with a different kind of humor. I think I'm starting to like it, but it disturbs me that he has Scorch's voice
Sorry I can't find on youtube any sample of Carth's voice in french :/

I think Carth's english voice suits him fine, but I grew up with it, so I can't really imagine him any other way. I don't think I'll be able to play KOTOR anymore without thinking "SCORCH", though. xD
I'd love to hear him with a different voice- Too bad about Youtube not having it. :\

When is Scorch not all smiles?
But this picture reminds me of a comment I wrote once:
- "Sev, on the roof! Fixer, you upgrade that firewall!"
- "And me, Boss? What shall I do?"
- "I want you to look cute and cuddly, Scorch! Cute and cuddly!"
Steph mentioned Scorch could hold back fangirls, but I disagreed. He has his own problems with fangirls.
But that comment really got Steph and my sister: "Cute and cuddly, Scorch!"

My humor is a mix-up of Colonel Jack O'Neill and Scorch. Plus this kind of dark humor you get when serving a while in the Air Force...
Flows naturally.
Don't eat or drink while having me around, you might choke.

"If we're all clones, than why am I the only one with a sense of humor?"
Or something like that.
-"Enemies go boom, Sir?"
-"That's for Delta 2-3! Or 3-2?"
-"Rule 23, never pull sentry duty on an empty stomach."

Yes, that's my Scorch! in French he does pretty good jokes too
it's usually the english ones translated in french, but sometimes they had to adapt
it usually sounds good
I love Sev's dark sense of humor too.

Colonel-Azzameen In reply to Evolvana [2009-05-17 10:33:23 +0000 UTC]
Tell me about "adapting".
I play the German version.
"Enemies go boom, Sir?" was translated as "Hat es Bumm gemacht, Sir?", having a completely different meaning. Only boom and Sir were correct.
Oh, and Sev...
- "Here's hoping they don't surrender!"
- "38, contact command and ask them when I get to kill something!"
- "Just point me at the enemy and stay out of my way!"
- "Area-pacification complete."

Evolvana In reply to Colonel-Azzameen [2009-05-17 20:49:28 +0000 UTC]
Yes, some errors on the French side too...
In english:
- Sev, do you have an anger problem?
- I think YOU have an intelligence problem.
was translated in:
- Sev, do you have an anger problem?
- It's an intelligence problem.
It's stupid because it doesn't have the same meaning, in that case Sev is saying to himself that he is stupid (instead of accusing Scorch)-_-

Ah, ja...
That line doesn't even appear in German. At least I didn't hear it.
But after about ten times blasting my way through the whole game (Let's re-arrange some architecture, Deltas!), it should have appeared.
But even with all those errors, it's still a great game, without Jedi. But a lightsabre in the level Alone: "An elegant weapon for a more civilised age, eh? Guess what, times have changed!"
And the way the Wookiees deal with the (oversized) Super Battle Droids. Pick them up and throw them away.

It's too bad that Lucasarts forbid Karen Traviss to used the Deltas in her next books, just because they maybe intend to make a sequel to the game... but they don't even make it! I hope Sev has survived...:/

...
I quote Achmed the Dead Terrorist, facing LucasArts: "I kill YOU! I kill you, till you're DEAD! That's worse."
Yeah, sequel would be cool, but wouldn't it have to be Imperial Commando then?
'Cause it ended on Kashyyyk, one of the last battles of the Clone Wars, along with Utapau.
Sev has survived, period. No one can take him down.

Evolvana In reply to Colonel-Azzameen [2009-05-18 18:40:28 +0000 UTC]
I guess it would be Imperial commandos, yes. With those ugly new armors (they made a Hasbro figure of that... I prefered the old ones!). I imagine an Imperial Delta squad going to Kashyyyk and finding out that Sev has survived but is a rebel (ally of the wookies!) or something! I hope they won't have to kill him :/

Should have kept the Katarn-III.

Evolvana In reply to Colonel-Azzameen [2009-05-18 22:27:13 +0000 UTC]
Yes the Katarn armor looked to cool. We were lucky that they didn't make any "phase 2" Katarn armor, but unfortunately they had to make an Imperial ugly one.

Well, it's the Empire.
That equals dumb, crappy, ugly, useless, etc.
At least concerning fighters, infantery and officers of almost all kind. But with artillery and capital ships, uh-uh...

I like the officers, Tie pilots, storms, etc from the Empire. (You're talking to a 501st member )
The Rebel uniforms are ugly. I prefer the Imperial ones.
But the Imperial commando armor sucks, yes :/

501st...
eh...
*points behind you* Look, there's Vader! *Warpspeed outta here*
Rebel uniforms are not pretty, okay. The Imperial officers remind me a bit of the SS and SA uniforms (grey, strange brown, and black), no offense.
Stormtroopers, oh yeah. Ever seen the YouTube video "Injured Stormtrooper"?
The sergeant asks about four times "Are you sure you're not dead?".
Tja, the rebels ignored Rule #17: "Always make sure they're dead!"
But I totally like the rebel pilot uniforms. Okay, the orange needs adjusting, but serves a purpose. Eject in space, and your comrades can pick you up much more easily. Oh, wait, Imperial pilots don't need that. TIEs don't have ejection seats...
Imperial Commando... I know of two kinds.
+ "normal" commando, wearing those strange helmets similar to AT-ST drivers and big goggles
+ storm commando, wearing a suit similar to scout troopers, only black.
Personally, I hope they get the storm commando suits. Nothing better than Katarn-III, but oh well...

Rebels are in orange so the Imperials can target them more easily
Dark green and grey are common colors for uniforms all over the world... it's not especially "nazi" or anything.

Colonel-Azzameen In reply to Evolvana [2009-05-19 14:22:05 +0000 UTC]
What is a better target, the small pilot in orange suit, or the shieldless TIE-Fighter with this big solar panels that just beg to get shot?
I didn't really mean the colours, more the cut. The colours are added detail.
And espacially Vader's helmet. That's so obviously a Wehrmacht helmet...
Currently read something about the helmet inspired by samurai. Hah! My ASS is inspired by samurai!
But hey, they took what they could get. Old sterling guns, MG-34, Wehrmacht helmets...
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
Evolvana In reply to Colonel-Azzameen [2009-05-19 18:01:48 +0000 UTC]
For the guns, yes, because they didn't want to "uild" new guns, but Vader's helmet is difinitely inspired by a samurai helmet, as the basic story of Star wars with Luke, masters, apprentices, even the roles of C3PO and R2D2 were inspired by an old japanese tale.

Vader's helmet, uh... no.
LucasArts can tell me that a thousand times, I still won't believe it.
It just looks evil, so it's good for Vader.

One of my friends saw this picture and began squealing something along the lines of "Damn, he looks FINE!!!" (This was my reaction. She never squeals about guys)
I had to throw water on her to calm her down. Then she got mad at me. Then she saw Scorch again. And then she began squealing again.
