Eros and Rodere were born in Clockwork City, and have lived there their whole life. As such they know most of its paths and underground networks. They recently had to bury their mother, who died of untreated jaw cancer*. Little to nothing is know about her or their family tree(no pun intended). They've been so busy trying to find a steady income to feed their 12 younger siblings however, that they have had little to no time to grieve! Unfortunately there original home was demolished, and the lot of 'em were taken into foster care. Eros and Rodere have been told that legal guardianship is impossible at this point, but that isn't stopping them for trying.

*it is believed, though her true cause of death remains a mystery.

Both can be overly helpful and kindly natured, however one still has to wonder sometimes..
As far as discerning who is who from looks, Rodere makes it as difficult as possible. Though spending a few minutes with them one can begin to figure it out.

Flying Squirrels' tails are often a good indicator of emotional state and heath, and can be shed in the need to escape; although these two will pull them (and sometimes each others) off with out a second thought, claiming that they get caught in things or are too time consuming to clean. This doesn't make any of there emotions hard to discern, as they're both quite expressive. Both of them are still grieving for the loss of their mother, but neither of them show it, at least in public.

Flying Squirrels have incredibly strong enamel covering their 22 teeth. Their opposing incisors are constantly growing, and they have to gnaw and wear them down to keep them from growing too large. Eros tends to do this almost completely in private, but Rodere does this almost all the time (one of the few ways to keep track of who is whom). Evidently enough, Rodere translates as 'to gnaw' in Latin (there mother had a sense of humor it seems).

Both of them are omnivores; however horribly carnivorous, eating all varieties of meat! This doesn't make them all too popular with many other mammals. Their incisors alone can cut most known metals with ease, however they both lack any canine teeth, having only incisors and molars.

Like other flying squirrels, they use their teeth for grooming (themselves as well as each other), for working (cutting, grinding, etc), and for fighting! When either gets into hand to hand combat (especially Rodere), it becomes a frenzied display if biting, kicking, clawing, grappling, punching, choking, arm baring, the list goes on! When fights break out between the two of them, it is hard to stop; let alone discern who's who, amongst the flying fur without getting injured in the process. It's best to get out of the way until they've settled down. Rarely do the two ever get into a scrap with each other that isn't almost immediately resolved, and more often than not its done in jest than in anger.

Like all flying squirrels, they both have the ability to speak in both human audible and high frequencies, using a variety of English; however not all of the words are translatable. Most of which if were translated would hardly be considered G rated! Both Rodere and Eros tend not to swear, as it was unacceptable since there upbringing; however that's not to say some of their undiscernible mutterings or arguments haven't been thought to be all that friendly.

Eros and Rodere both own a hand woven Jai alia [link] [link] glove, and launch Smoke bombs as well as B-class Shrapnel and bludgeons midair in battle, giving a whole new meaning to the sports theme "the fastest game on Earth". Each projectile looks like a metal baseball, with rivets rather than seams, and travels at speeds of up to 302 km/hour (or 188 m/hour).

The bombs and bludgeons are hand made by Rodere, and he is particularly proud of his B-class Shrapnel creations.
They are uniquely crafted through the rapping of sharpened sheets of metal, one over the other over the next and so on, and detonate as the outer layer is broken, releasing a hail of boring, cutting, spinning, and tearing pieces. As a result of their chaotic and unpredictable nature he rarely uses them.
All of these (with the exception of the bludgeons) only detonate at high speeds, so he tosses them about like they were nothing

Flying.. Eros and Rodere are some of the most acrobatic gliders you'll find out there. After getting a running start, they launch themselves into the air and.. well go from there! They often free fall during their flights, but can regain this lost altitude (surprisingly) from flapping their patagium (gliding membrane, for now referred to [for simplicity] as wings). This is unusual as most flying squirrels stick to simple gliding and jumping. So as far as they're considered, they fly, gliding being a small part of it.

Both are exceptional sprinters and jumpers, and can run at speeds beyond that of your average human, leaping to heights of single story rooftops, and just as far!

They have excellent night vision, and darkness poses no problem for flight.
