Usually, Tord from Eddsworld is drawn by fans with either a scowl, a frown, or trying to squint like the bad-ass everybody thinks he is.Admittedly, drawing him with other expressions is a lot more fun. And here's me practicing with drawing him making other expressions with his face - humor included!

why fight about pairings of fictional characters (that are a hint reminiscent of actual people) and why said pairings exist in the first place when we can all celebrate under peace and calm with no poo flinging between the two parties of a bigger party?

Exactly,Β I can deal with people disliking my ships, as long as it's a good enough reason- not like they're doing so because they're homophobic and such, then they're just being rude. But yeah it's fine with me for them to dislike it, but sometimes it's funny to see how butthurt the other side can get. It's all fiction, they shouldn't get their panties in a bunch over something so silly.Β

To be fair though, the characters of Eddsworld do represent real people and I can understand why some people in this fandom get weirded out about the shipping. They connect the person to who they represent in fiction, and it is pretty hard to not see the person when you look at the character you have to admit. I don't blame Edd or anybody at all for having slightly extreme reactions to the shipping.
Let's get serious here. Both shippers and non-shippers in general should keep this in mind: reality =/= fiction.
Just because shippers ship two characters together does not mean they ship the people the characters are based on.
However, just because a shipper ships a pairing does not mean they should make it into a reality and be completely creepy and obsessive on forcing the two people to fulfill their "OTP" fantasy.
You just gotta draw a line somewhere, and some people just don't have a good sense of what is reality and what is fiction. On the other hand, some people do know how to make that distinction very well.

Yeah, you got a point there. But I've seen Edd actually find a shipping comic funny as it was intended telling me he kind of disregarded the fact it was of shipping, and in a Vokle, Tom said he actually didn't mind shippings much, they were just silly. As for Matt and Tord, I'm not so sure on. But Matt apparently favorited something TordxMatt related, but put it in a folder called "Creepy stuff" or something along the lines of that, and talked to the artist personally saying it was funny, if I remember correctly. But if they can tolerate it, that's enough for me to feel I'm not freaking them out as much as I could. However, I still regret just drawing a simple kiss on the lips from the fear I'll freak them out and they'll flip out on me.

Their reactions are rather chill, and I think it's cool that they aren't taking it super seriously.
Β EW pairings are kind of a guilty pleasure (even for me), and as long as it remains as that, then it's nothing to be concerned about.
As long as you know how to separate the character from the person and not get too enthusiastic on making them come true, then there's nothing wrong with drawing fluffy pictures of their personae snuggling up or anything of the sort. That's how I see it, at least!
