Description I got to work on Gresh for a little while, he's about half finished. After him, I just have Tuma and Skrall to paint.

Scratches, scrapes, rust and grime.. man I love what you've done with Gresh this time!
Was that an intentional rhyme? So sublime. On the dime.

I'm a mime! (that's the only one you didn't take... I'm not good at this rhyming stuff!)

Thanks, as always! I might be able to finish him this weekend.

(No worries, I'm still terrible when it comes to it. I have to be suuuper tired to make anything sound good.)

Welcome, as always!

Awesome, like the other ones! They really look like smaller versions of the original ones.
My favourites are still Strakk an XT-4...
Do you own Ackar, btw?

Why thank you! I agree, XT4 was a lot of fun-- and Strakk's cape, too! My brother does, I forgot Ackar! He could use some dark red.

You're so good at this! Can't wait to see the finished result!

I love editing my Bionicles, but all I have is blades, permanent markers, and sand paper.Β
Can you give me a few tips? Like what I should buy first or how you make them look corroded? Please?

Thank you!Β I'm glad you like doing this too, I don't see many fans even keep their sets together. I'll give you my whole process:

I didn't doΒ this on Gresh because he's my brother's figure, but for the Glatorian, I put knicks and scratches into their armor with my Xacto knife-- that's the first step.

The best part about Bionicle pieces is that something might look like a combination of components, so it's easy to pick out bladesΒ and mechanical bits. I think silver looks good on anyone, so that's what I use for these parts. I also paint every piston shaft and pin head, like they appear in the movie (and the + rods, especially!).

Now you can start weathering. I blotch on silver in some areas to give the appearance of paint chipping, but in excess it's too jarring. I imagine where these guys would get hit the most-- those places would be beat up. Next, I find some light and dark shades of brown and dip my brush in paint, then in water, and splotch it on the figure. There's no wrong way to apply the paint! I let it pool into the Xacto cracks and in the corners of the parts, and let it dry, then dab away the extra water.

And that's it! You want to look for acrylic paint, and be careful not to pick up "glossy" or "outdoor finish". The Walmart tubes are $1 each. Get some different sized brushes, especially the tiny ones, and they should be cheap at Walmart too. I don't have any experience with markers, but I think sandpaper would give you a great effect!

Let me know how it goes, I hope this helps!
