The base coat pattern was modified off of the Simplicity Matrix coat pattern. If you go to a JoAnn's or any fabric store that sells Simplicity, look through the catalogue in the costumes section and you'll eventually find the matrix pattern in there. The coat design has a side seam so I just split it at the waist line instead of sewing the side seam all the way down.

I just love what you did with the coat. <3 I think that is one of the best bullet hole riddled ones I have ever seen. Very slick.

I must drill you on every detail of how you made that cosplay =.=; Starting with how did you get that wig? I want my bf to cosplay Vash but he does not have the hair for it, no matter how much we chop or dye.
I just love what you did with the coat, x100 more badass than the standard!

I've never seen a Vash cosplay that had someone actually take the time to imitate the bullet holes. You're a fucking genius. <3

Without word of a lie, this is the most stunning Vash cosplay I have ever seen, great work. if i can ask. I am a person who professes to have very little design and cosplay creative talent, how would you recommend i proceed (were i to want something like this)?

Well, the first step is always determination. I don't care who you are, but if you really want to do something you can do it. That might mean getting help or doing a lot of studying and practice, but you can always do something with determination. Next, study what you're wanting to do a lot, find every reference picture, watch the anime or manga or video game to see how the outfit would work in real life, etc. Also research into fabrics that would work for it, and that might be tough if you don't know much about fabrics, but get help from a friend or go to a local fabric store. They might not get it, but they can still help. Third would be construction, and that again might be tough if you don't know how to sew or craft costumes in any way. It can be done, but you might want to start small and work your way up. Do what you're comfortable with but definitely never loose sight of your dream costumes

I drew them and then cut them out with scissors, and darkened the edges with leather stain and shoe polish.

He's Vash Stamp in the "Trigun maximum" manga. One of the greatest mangas I've ever seen. If you read manga, You must look over it.
