Description I've seen from my travels through dAmn and DA recently that a lot of people are having trouble grasping the simplicity of the new message center.

It's REALLY not that difficult. But if you need some help, this tutorial covers the main features of the new message center, and some common problems that users have faced.

I kept hearing all these complaints in dAmn about how no one could figure out the message center. Like you, I also agree it isn't that confusing...
I never understood what problem was that confusing.

I really like the new system too. It does take a little getting used to... but soon enough I found myself thinking I could never go back to v5.

now I just have to figure out how to make a new journal...

To make a new journal or edit an existing one navigate to the top of the page. The bar at the very top of the page which contains your deviant name also contains a drop down button next to your name which contains all the common actions. "Update Journal" is one of those common actions.

I know - I've been beta testing v6 for a while now and getting used to it - its made a couple of my plugins redunant now
I was trying to make a joke. I fail!
