And The grass was actually done quite simple too ^^ good to know that sometimes the easier effects are the better.

It is done simply with a Brush that gives off random Patterns instead of ones that ae always the same, starting from the back of the picture the brush is set to a minimum side and filled, the closer you get to the front the more the brush grows in size which spreads than bigger grass the more it gets to the front area of the viewpoint.
