"Trust me Evelyn," he growled in a low voice, "Jump!"

Evelyn hesitated, glancing over at the tom then back at the ground far, far below them. "W-what?!" Then the queen felt Rory's paws on her back, forcefully. Although she scrambled at the rock, Rory was stronger and she was falling again. Great.

As they fell, Rory dove with his paws forward, the wind forcing up on them. He scrambled through the air, pushing to get in front of Evelyn. His strength was giving up, but he had to save the silver queen. They neared the ground, and Rory let his paws fall upward as he twisted in the air to get under Evelyn. He held his breath as they plummeted the last few yards, cushioning the queen's fall. His vision went black as they thudded on the ground. The last he could remember was muttering to Evelyn to see if she was alright.

Her heart was racing again as she jumped off of Rory.
"Evelyn, are youokay..." His last words before blacking out. Evelyn collapsed onto the ground next to him. Ugh, this cat is scarily reckless. Why on EARTH would I trust him... She laughed softly and laid her head on her paws, waiting for the tom to regain consciousness.

Rory woke some hours later, instantly feeling the pain jolt from his back to the tips of his claws. He heaved himself up, seeing Evelyn next to him, hopefully alright. Her worried expression scared Rory.
"Evelyn, what's wrong. Did something bad happen while I was out?" He pulled his paw back the instant he felt Evelyn's on his claws.

"No, Rory I'm fine! Calm down please." The queen placed her dark gray paw on Rory's. Seeing him flinch, she retracted.
"You're the one who's hurt. There are less dangerous ways to get down from somewhere high up." She stared at the tom, his injuries paining her to look at.

Rory was uncomfortable in every way, physical and emotional. He winced on eye to look up at Evelyn, as the slightest movement would trigger unbearable pain.
"Evelyn, I don't think I can move. You're going to have to make like a tree and leaves," the orange tom tried to drive his natural hostility away with a joking comment, but he was emotionally preparing himself, for death even. As he laughed Rory was tortured with constant suffering, but the orange tom couldn't stop. Pain grew an grew, when he finally stopped, he was practically wheezing as his way of breathing.

Evelyn cringed at Rory's unsteady breaths.
"Rory, you're going to have to not talk, or move, okay?" You need to heal, and that means you need to stay here." Evelyn stood, her legs still shaking from the fall. She took a breath to steady herself and began walking toward the river,"I'll be back, but just, don't move. Oh, and..thank you, for getting us down, however much of a bad idea that was." She smiled slightly as she left the clearing. Her tail swayed behind her, scattering bark and leaves. The forest was filled with noise now. Evelyn tied to pinpoint the calling of a bird or the chattering of a squirrel, but her ears were ringing from the sudden drop in elevation. She'd have to use her other senses then. Evelyn noticed her small paw in a hole. But it wasn't a hole, just a large paw print, presumably belonging to a wolf. A large wolf. The scent was fresh, it was near. Rory. Evelyn sprinted back to the clearing. Staring right into her green eyes was the wolf. Just as large as she had thought it to be.
