Description
Electronic Museum of Advanced Contemporary Art.Based in the Netherlands, hence the 'De Stijl' and modernism references in this poster.
This is a poster for the EMACA, but this submission represents the project;
The EMACA has been started a little while ago to provide a new look at art. Individuals, preferably non established artists, can place their artwork on this site. It is non automated and small scale. Together with an art historian a collection will be made that shows the work in temporary exposition places such as squares, parks etc. The underlying reasons for doing this are not relevant for the project itself. The admission of this project, that will hopefully never end, shows however that the founders regard the actual project as a piece of artwork as well. The website is promoted by making poster like these with subtle texts and sometimes incomprehensible proze are meant to interest the target group, the city dwelling artists of the metropole, the lone thought-submerged skater, the socially isolated metal welder, the deviant artist, and so on. The poster are hung next to eachother to form a continuous black band of silent messages, offering a restpoint in the screaming with commercial posters cycletunnels and walls of Amsterdam, Rotterdam and anywhere whithin our reach.
Admission is free, the website is banner free, there is no money involved in this scheme. Money doesn't matter.
