so, now with castshoes, she's finally able to walk

Do you think there's any chance that she might (**gasp**) take a fall (cast boots being the cumbersome things that they are to walk in) and require larger casts for her new injuries?

IMHO having big casts removed is what's unlucky, not the act of getting them put on
The poor character though, I do feel for her in that armless state - I'd hate not being able to stroke (my) leg casts if I was wearing a pair!
