Chastity devices are under teacher's appreciation. They're usually removed at the end of the program, when they finish all their lessons and the teacher validates their rehabilitation, but it's not an obligation, according teacher's advices/recommendation it may stay longer.
Also, nobody asked the question, but at the end of the program, they are not completely free.
Their criminal records are completely erased, they can get a job, an appartment and do all stuff normal people can do, but they still have one limitation : they are denied prosthetics during the lengh of their former sentence.
For example, Candice was sentenced 30 years of prison before the program, so now she's free (ok,still under Judith's lessons), but won't be able to get hooks or any kind of artifical arms during 30 years.

As for being denied prosthetics for the duration of their original jail time, what about Chastity? (if I remember her name right, she was the green haired girl) She was given the prosthetics with the cat bells on them.

It the same idea, except in her special case, she has to wear the bell-hook and bell-pegleg during her sentence, she can't remove them (if you look closely my pics you'll see padlocks) or replace them with non-bell prostjetics until the end of her sentence.
For Candice and other DSD amputees, prosthtics exists, not easy to use, but they exists.
