SOLUTION:
It's the CAT.

Eplanation: As I said there was a TWIST to this, I meant the following: 'Cept for mum's mouse, the only animals in this house are cats and chickens. Now cats know if granny calls them, she'll feed them milk + some stuff and they don't like it but the chicken do and it also works vice versa - chickens don't like the food given to them but cats (and stray mutts) do. So whenever granny calls the cats, chickens come and the other way 'round. That's why chicken became Cats and cats became Chicken.)
