I don't think Gant was in the part I linked you to, but Damon Gant is the Chief of Police that is directly involved with that case and the case directly connected to it. You'd really have to play it to understand how awesome (and extremely arrogant) his character is. "Phoenix Wright" and actually the game series name is "Ace Attorney" and each is preceded by the name of the character whose perspective is followed (i.e. Phoenix Wright, Apollo Justice, and Miles Edgeworth)
And the game isn't very popular actually, but the people who are fans are extremely dedicated. Plus the guys at Capcom remade the first 3 games for Wii, and Phoenix makes an appearance in Marvel vs. Capcom 3 (in case you didn't already know)
