Description
Untitled basin, about 4"hx10"dWheel-thrown stoneware basin with hand-formed fish, carved and applied decorations, and coral made from tiny wheel-thrown shapes.
Glazes: tan/buff base, layers of sky blue, jade green, purple haze, and lots and lots of clear to pool in the bottom.
My favorite part about this is the fact that I worked in lots of silica sand with the clay and slip in the center while I was building, and through all the pooled glaze, you can see a sandy bottom to the "puddle." Also, the haze glaze rippled with the blue to make these little foamy swirly white areas that look like seawater! You can see it, sort of! This is deserving of a better pic, later.
Easily my favorite thing I've made this year so far.
