M710/aj RKV Lamia is the starship-level tactical component of the Versatile Missile Acceleration & Control System used by Core Governance military units. It is a fusion-powered near-c missile capable of carrying antimatter munitions, or utility payloads such as reconnaissance or electronic warfare packages.RKV Lamias are typically launched in swarms of up to 50 missiles for ship-to-ship or ship-to-ground combat. They can also be cold-launched as mines or for later use.
As a VMACS component, RKV Lamias become a battlespace asset once launched, able to receive commands from, and transmit data to, any authorised command unit within communications range.
At the starship level, RKV Lamia is complemented by the IKV Centaur FTL-capable strategic missile. Its equivalent at the fighter level is the AKV Phoenix, and its infantry equivalent is the AKV Gemini. RKV Lamia is descended from the Colonisation Era M19 ARKIV and M278/uc RKV Daikyu; the RKV Daikyu is still carried by some non-military ships today.
