Deep in thoughts.Young Severus is scrolling the corridors at night, everything is in silence, everybody is sleeping. Maybe he is thinking of a poem or inventing new potions in his head
...or his face simply reflected mine how I tried to figure out the basic rules of digital painting scratching my head a lot and using some thousand layers in PS.
...first in history he got some tiny eyelashes from me, but don't tell him, he would go mad (+download and zoom+)
I didn't use any reference photo.
Note: This is my FIRST digital painting.
I had no former experience, no former studies, never had a tablet before - since this Monday when I became the owner of one, so please keep this in mind if you comment this artwork (of course the constructive suggestions are always very welcomed

Wow, that's more then impressive for the first digtal painting, absolutely jawdropping. Especially that you didnt leave the lineart there, like i always do, but you exactly made a real painting only with digital tools. Absolutely great, especially the eyes... Maybe you should have given more shadows to the left side of his face, but anyways it really looks way better than a first work generally looks. Or at least my work

woohoo, 2 hours. Yeah, it will be shorter, I'm sure. There are a whole load of good tutorials here and in the Net, but honestly I'm not too patient for these, so everything i know (well, thats not that lot) is mostly experienced by myself
But yeah, you're absolutely right, painting with PS is much easier than with brushes and paints. You should see me with watercolors

What's really funny is the stuff I'm still discovering in PS. Stuff that's been infront of my face for MONTHS. It's gonna be really funny when I finally start to explore Corel Painter

No, the wacom was not that generous with the intous 4, I could download only PS Elements (with a code they gave) or a basic Corel program by choice, but no problem, I have a friend who installed me the Photoshop CS4 and the Adobe Illustrator,too. Shame on me, I have never tried the later one 
It is the same with me, and I have to laugh at myself so often how complicated I made my life without using a given tool that was in front of my face..
I am curious how you like the Painter! It is said to be the best painting program, you will definately make magic!

I also like the fact that it does not look like you're doing what I did @ first - using teeny - tiny brushes. There's alot of spillover here, but better that, than tortured, inky - dinky little hesitant brushes.

I have never seen any tablet in real a week before, I was afraid to grab the digital pen first, it seemed so weird and unusal. Tablets are not as common as they are abroad here, but I think it is only a question of time
I really enjoy my wacom, but I tell you one thing: I desperately miss the scent of my papers and pencils, it is strange that when I take a breath I smell a machine... (do I sound a bit crazy?

Would you believe that I have never in my life even seen a tablet for real, let alone TOUCHED it?
And I will just tell you this, when you say you are crazy: I am OBSESSED by the touch, feel and smell of papers, materials, colours, fountain pens, quills, writing papers - I still write real letters and even seal them

Meg a szája és haja amin megakadt a szemem! Könnyű vele rajzolni? Mekkora tábla? Sok volt?

Nagyon örülök, hogy megvettem a táblát, egyszerűen imádom. Március 25-én jött ki a wacom intuos új generációja (a 4-es), így egyből ilyet kaptam. Voltam a magyarországi forgalmazó cégnél kipróbálni, mielőtt kiadtam volna egy kalap pénzt (boltban nem kapható sajnos, csak a wacom bamboo a westend media marktban). Bevezető áron volt 127 e Ft(de annak lejött 10%-a, mert vittem diákigazolványt), ez a második méret. Most, hogy már használom, örülök, hogy nem az L méretet vettem (korábban ezt néztem ki a 3-asnál), teljesen felesleges, hiszen folyton zoomolsz, ki-be, nekem az aktív felület kb. 24 cmX15 cm (maga a tábla nagyobb, és kb. 1 kiló
