i have a question about your coloring technique. do you start with a base color and add shade and highlight? or do you start with the darkest and slowly add in the lighter?

I start off with a base color. What I do from there depends on the color, though. I have a palette with different color ranges, because they aren't just a linear change from one to another, usually. It's especially true for things like skin tone and stuff.
