Description All the Nintendo home consoles (original American versions) arranged.

<3 Nintendo

NOTE 1: I know the Virtual Boy was marketed as a "portable system" and not a console like the others. However I find it fits in a lot better with those than the Gameboys.

NOTE 2: I guess I need to clarify for those who don't take the submitted date into account; This was taken a year and a half before the Wii came out. That's why it's not there.

I have all of these except the Virtual Boy (which I wouldn't mind trying at least once) and the GameCube (gave it to my cousin; besides, I have a Wii)

I know there were gold cartridges for the NES and I know of gold mods of the NES but no official gold NES. I might be wrong though.

thats awesome, I'm shocked you actually have a virtual boy.

I have a similar pic but its not as nice, because its just taken on the floor in my room

That's actually where mine was taken. I'm waiting till I have the money for a Wii and I'm going to try and retake this pic (and the gameboy one) in a better setting. Possibly try and do a Nintendo Family Tree pic.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

ExplodedSoda In reply to heavyarms55 [2009-11-25 06:26:26 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, I need to do an updated picture. I've since gotten a DS Lite and a GB Micro. I was meaning to do it this winter while I'm home but I accidentally left my GBA SP back at college.
I still need a DSi as well.

heavyarms55 In reply to ExplodedSoda [2009-11-25 16:47:38 +0000 UTC]

Wow your the only person I've heard of who got a GB micro. Not that it was a bad idea by Nintendo but it seemed kinda late to me.

You know theres going to be a New DSi soon? Its going to be bigger with better internet capability or so I've heard.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

ExplodedSoda In reply to heavyarms55 [2009-11-27 05:20:39 +0000 UTC]

Yeah the DSi LL. It really depends on if it gets released in America or not. If not then I'm not going to worry about getting it (kind of like the Gameboy Light which was Japan online..however I have always wanted a 64DD). I think the LL is only scheduled for Japanese and European release.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

heavyarms55 In reply to ExplodedSoda [2009-11-27 05:30:28 +0000 UTC]

doesn't mean they wont. they might just not have announced it yet.

Whats the 64DD?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

ExplodedSoda In reply to heavyarms55 [2009-11-29 05:50:35 +0000 UTC]

It stood for 64 Disk Drive and Dynamic Drive was an add on to the Nintendo 64 (hooked up to the bottom) that was released only in Japan and was mostly a failure, was actually announced before the 64 released and was supposed to give expanded data storage. Unfortunately it got released pretty late in the 64's life and was a complete failure in Japan so they didn't bother with it elsewhere. The Wikipedia page on it is pretty cool. They tend to be pretty pricey when they show up on Ebay.

heavyarms55 In reply to ExplodedSoda [2009-11-29 05:52:46 +0000 UTC]

what exactly did it do? did it allow for more games? or what?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

ExplodedSoda In reply to heavyarms55 [2009-11-29 22:16:52 +0000 UTC]

Yeah new games, Sim City 64 was actually released for the 64DD in Japan, and it could add more levels to old 64 games. Ura Zelda was supposed to be an expansion to Ocarina of Time (originally Zelda 64) that was to allow for an expanded story with more quests and temples through the use of the 64DD.

On the Virtual Boy? It doesn't have an upgraded power source, I just didn't include the plugs in the picture.

nintendoloz In reply to ExplodedSoda [2009-05-05 00:40:45 +0000 UTC]

That's weird, it looks like the upgrade.

On the back of the controller, do you insert 6 AA batteries, or do you connect a Super Nintendo AC adapter?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

ExplodedSoda In reply to nintendoloz [2009-05-06 18:50:35 +0000 UTC]

Pretty sure it's just batteries. I don't know, the system is 13 hours away from me at the moment so I can't go look.

My sister rent one at blockbuster when it came out, we did not have the money to buy one back then... Now I so wish we had, it was so much fun! A bit crazy and tricky because it could give me quite violent migraines but... well, I want one so I can give it to my big sister who is a game designer!

If you look at the date this was submitted it was a good year and a half before the Wii was even released.
