I agree. The ending is so sad (I still cry whenever I see it), and he really is denied of true love.
In the sequel I am writing,[link] , he finds himself reencountered with the same crew of scientists from the first film.

I always sympathized with the creature. In my imageI tried to make him as empathizable as possible, instead of the ferocious monster he is so often protrayed as.
