time taken: approx. 20 hours? i took so long, i have literally lost count :c

okay. so.. this was my first attempt at legit digital painting. i've always found a lot of the digitally painted pieces up on deviantart so beautiful and inspirational, so i decided to watch some tutorials and try one out myself.
i've also been itching to design a new character that doesn't follow my typical mold, so this is the face that's been appearing in my sketches lately.

..also, her name is madeleine. :>

aaand mistakes galore! while the final product is definitely not up to the standard i would have hoped for, i do plan to try a lot more of these - so constructive criticism is always great. and honestly, even if this isn't exactly the greatest piece ever, i did learn some very, very important things from it, like work with high resolution and DOWNSIZE.

time to move on!
