Okay...There are many, many trends that I find ridiculous, (Ugg boots are disgusting) but one that may not be popular with the mainstream, that tears at my nerves, is Gothic Lollita.
It is the most repulsive alternative trend I have ever seen. Effectively, you take a dress that one would put a toddler/porcelain doll in, dye it black, paint your nails and call yourself hardcore. THIS IS WRONG, PEOPLE. DO YOU KNOW WHERE THE TERM "LOLLITA" CAME FROM?
Here's a lesson on literature, folks. There's a wonderful author by the name of Nabokov, who wrote a book about his strange fetish for small children. We called this pedophilia. Anyway, the book was entitled "Lollita" after the girl he was obsessed with before he was sent to jail.
I see girls taking these stupid pictures of themselves in these STUPID fluffy marshmallow dresses with their STUPID white make up and petulant expressions, and I'm like.. "I wonder if they know they're promoting in illegal fetish."
Come on, guys! I say this as a recovering goth myself! GET OVER IT. DROP IT. FIND SOMETHING LESS... Oh I dunno, hideous? You're waddling around looking like you popped out of a demented Cherlie Temple movie. HOW can you live with yourself?
I mean it. If I see one more frilly, lacy, bull crap sorry excuse for Victorian style piece of rubbish, I'm going to set you all on fire.

yeah..uh, for one thing, lollita may be fetish for some people, but it's really just a style of visual kei that is really more popular with the japanese. and yeah, you are wrong about that author by the way. "Lollita" came from the japanese anime styling "Lollicon", so i don't know what the fuck you are talking about. and about it being a "fetish", there are plenty of more "petophilia" things like half ass-dressed rap singers that lick all over their little gangster boyfriends that are the idols of pop culture, which i find much more disgusting. there are plenty worse things you could say about that than a cute gothic trend. it also seems you were a "former" goth. yeah, little poser.

Nabokov wrote his novel Lolita while traveling in the Western United States. In June, 1953 he and his family came to Ashland, Oregon, renting a house on Meade Street from Professor Taylor, head of the Southern Oregon College Department of Social Science. He finished Lolita there and began writing the novel Pnin here. He roamed the nearby mountains looking for butterflies, and wrote a poem "Lines Written in Oregon". From what I've read in the book it's not false at all. Lollita was the name of one of his loves, and he wrote the book from prison. It was a bit of an autobiography.
