A/N: This is an art trade with CTW, she wanted LinkXPit one shot, and she’s the only person I’d do this for!~ XD

       He will never forget what happened, on the dreaded day, the day his lover, was murder right before his eyes. Never.

     Link laid sighed, the chilly February winds blowing through his hair. He looked to his left, is cerulean eyes filling with sadness.

   “You know what today is, right Pit?” the green clad warrior spoke. Only to get no replay, he ran a brown, leather cover hand over a grass, he didn’t expect an answer.

      “Yeah,” Link said, as though answering the previous question. “it’s the anniversary of your death…” He stroked the cold marble tombstone next to him, a blue rose placed in front of the stone. Dew sparkled off the marine petals.

Lie in the grass, next to the mausoleum
                  I'm just a notch in your bedpost

     The warrior closed his eyes, keeping his tears to himself, Pit wouldn’t want me to cry over him forever… he thought, running a hand through his blond bangs. But he couldn’t help but remember what happened, on February 13th….

~Flash back~

      Link and pit were sitting by that very field, Pit’s wings curled around the blond warrior. Pit sighed contently at the field, it was a beautiful sight. Flowers of all colors were here, red, green, yellow, black…and blue.  Pit looked at Link, his sky blue eyes full of  admiration.

      “I like the blue flowers the best.” the angel whispered, snuggling his face into Link’s neck.

     “Why’s that?” the warrior asked.

      “They remind me of your eyes,”  Pit muttered in Link’s neck.  Link could feel his face grow hot, ether from embarrassment, or Pit’s warm breath on his neck. Link then turned to Pit, cupping his face gently, and pulling him in for a passionate kiss. Nether had a care in the world. Little did they know, they were being watched…

            We're always sleeping in, and sleeping for the wrong team

     Cold, hard, icy eyes watched from a distance, a scowl plastered on his face. He cussed under his breath, spitefully. The man walked to where the two lovers sat, golden blade in his hand. His shadow stood frightfully over the two lovers.

     “I-Ike?” Pit stuttered frightfully, Ike only glared at the two, his eyes were frozen daggers.

    “Fucking cheater.” The blue haired mercenary said, if looks could kill, they two would be burning in a hell of blue fire.

     “But I never loved you.” Pit muttered, almost inaudible. Ike’s eyes glowed with white rage.

   “What?!“ Ike gripped Pit’s throat with his huge hand, his nails digging into Pit’s tender neck. The angel’s white wings fluttered chaotically, plums of soft white feathers scattering every where. Link got up, a drew his sword.

     “Leave him alone!” Link rushed forward, his sword aimed for Ike’s chest. But the blue haired mercenary simply shoved him away, not caring that the master sword sliced in between hi index and middle finger.

    “Get out of here, elf boy! This is between Pit and I.” Ike lifted up his golden blade, and was about to bring it down on Pit’s skull, when Link ran forward.

CLASH!

     We're going down, down in an earlier round
                And Sugar, we're going down swinging
                        I'll be your number one with a bullet
                                  A loaded God complex, cock it and pull it

      The blade met with Link’s forearm, the green warrior made no sound, only gritted his teeth in pain. Ike glared at the warrior.

     “Very noble of you, but that not going to stop me from killing you both!” Ike pressed his blade harder on to, Link’s arm,  blood stained the once pure glass.

      “G-go Pit!” Link said through gritted teeth, trying to fight against the blade with his own arm.

      “I’m not leaving you!” Pit shouted, link only grunted, and used the blunt side of his sword and hit Ike in the chest. The force made the mercenary stumble backwards, and gave the two lovers enough time to run. Link and pit ran, their fingers intertwined with each other. The two kept running, until they hit a dead end, or maybe just an  end… Pit looked down at the long fall, Link gave Pit’s hand a reassuring squeeze. But as soon as they felt calm, the air tensed up again, the mercenary’s shadow cast over the two.

      “How long have you known…” Pit muttered softly to Ike. The blue haired warrior sneered,

      “For 3 mounts!” Pit cringed. But surprisingly, Ike’s voice softened. “and you hurt me every time you were with him…” Pit could feel the truth in his words. Had he really hurt Ike this much…? “I’ll give you one more chance Pit, come with me or stay with him.” He said.

     Pit looked from the two warriors. Is sky blue eyes landed on link.

      “I choose, Link.” the angel said, Link smiled. Ike’s eyes flashed back into blind rage.

     “Then you both will die where you stand!” Ike pounded his sword into the ground, the shock wave from the force knocking the two backward, and into the cavern. The two lovers fell, Link passed out from the fiery blow. Pit grabbed link and held him tight. Tears slipped from his eyes.

    “I love you Link.” The angel murmured in to Link’s soft blond hair. Pit twisted his body so he was falling with his back to the ground and Link was in his arms. The angel willed himself to flap his wings, but the pressure from the fall, putting too much strain on the soft wings.

     Pit closed his eyes, preparing for the worst, and good thing he did. He landed on the stone ground, his wings broke from the impact along with his spine, pit let out a startled gasp, and passed out.

    Link awoke with a groan, rubbing his head though his hat.

       “Pit? Where----?” He stopped, as his eyes fell on the broken angel on the stone ground. Link ran by Pit’s side. “No!” Link yelled, Pit’s glasses blue eyes opened.

      “Pit! Pit! You’ll be okay! I promise!” Link said, few tears spilled from his eyes.  Pit could only smile and mouth “I love you.” before his eyes closed and his body relaxed. Link couldn’t hold it in, he cried, tears streamed down his cheeks, he cradled his lover, and wept over his death.

~End of Flash back~

       Link Held on of the red stained feathers from his lover, holding it in his hand like a precious gem. A tears threaten his eyes, but he blinked them away, Pit wouldn’t want it… Link would never forget what happened to his lover on the day, but he knows he could continue to live and smile, because that’s what Pit would’ve wanted…
