This is really fun to look at. The pencil (is it pencil?) strokes really fit well with the coarse paper (is it paper?) texture. The dark background sits well with the subject. I really like the duality of this piece, it's surprising! I'd never really realised how well the two forms sit with eachother, fish, and eye.

that's cruel. when it comes to art, i rarely read books. i've got too many other books to read. art is my 'release' activity (i'm a maths student). i just dive in and enjoy myself, whenever i have time. whatever knowledge i have is rarely to do with books (but sometimes it is, if i'm feeling really energetic), most of what i know is from experience, and chatting to people.
i find it a relaxed approach
