Wow! I'm so impressed with how much like a painting this actually looks like... but it's all done with a 3DS and new art academy!!
This is a really sweet scene. Oh and great title.

But it is a painting! Just a digital painting!
I'm kidding, I know what you mean. Like it looks like I used traditional mediums, right? I think a lot of the credit should go to the developers for their paint mechanics in their software.
Thanks! My girlfriend says I have a way with words (writing moreso than the spoken word).

No worries
I was looking at one the other comments I really have to agree with what they said, sometimes you can get kind of a grainy-ness when saving an image - I think it is something to do with using the water to smudge... possibly :S
Evidently you can make some very realistic looking paintings from the game, I'm probably just doing it wrong xD

Yeah definitely. Works always look the best when viewed on the 3DS screen. I think the exported files are jpgs, so exporting copies of the artwork drop the quality a bit.
The change from the native workable 3DS file is different to a jpg, so the conversion would no doubt result in a loss of information/ resolution. I found pastel drawings to be the worst as their pixelation is the most obvious after exporting.
With painting, I think painting in alla prima style results in a choppier conversion as opposed to painting in a more traditional/ old master method.
