Description
Not to be confused with the band, (or other meanings that doesn't involve being a car enthusiast/petrolhead).Haven't drawn him in a bit, or at least not in a situation where he's the punchline and/or the butt of the jokes (then again that's always fun tbh). Also, this is a relatively new attempt of car interiors, well, at least the one configured to the wrong side of the road. It also somehow spawned a really bad joke/meme between Corn and I, I spent too long cursing cars that it just sounded ridiculous out of context.

Very nice perspective on the car ! And on him too.ย
Great details and painting ย
Now I wonder how he got all those scars (bad curiosity ^^")ย

Thanks! I was quite pleased with how he turned out actually, the car could use a bit more work, lol
Nothing wrong with being curious! The general scars were old injuries and whatnot, being an ex-soldier turned hitman does that to you. But some of them do have some sort of significance behind it.

You're welcome, it's great ! Cars and other technical things are really hard to draw I think (BIKES BIKES ARE THE WORST)ย
Oooh interesting ! ex-soldier turned hitman, this guy doesn't get bored often I guess ^^ย

Lol, I hear you, they're tough to do without the right references. I mean I struggle with guns as is. Though which bikes are you talking about? Motorbikes or bicycles? Either way, I dislike drawing either one of them, lol.ย
Yep, they do say life is full of unexpected surprises . Just when he thought the army and Iraq was bad enough, he ends up in a group of people who get into enough illegal troubles to keep him wanting a quiet day off.

I love the very realistic approach here. It's very convincing, especially for a speedpaint. I also really like the thought put into the scars and scuffs on his skin. This is a really detailed and well-laid-out piece.

Thanks!ย Lol, I may be using the term 'speedpaint' a bit loosely here, I mean I wouldn't spend too much time on it (though will take time for details like the ones you've pointed out), but the breaks in between just makes it ridiculously long

Yeah, well, no one can be that intense painting for hours on end. Gotta let the guns cool down you know.

Very nicely done. Work on the hands a bit. And maybe the steering wheel.ย

Thank you! Point taken though, the fingers especially look too light, but don't get me started on the wheel, I gave up on it

I always love the detail you put into your pieces from the tattoos on his arms to the cars in the background. You always go for such challenging and interesting poses too and you have a wonderful grasp of perspective- great piece!

Naww, thank you, it's nice to know that the odd little details get noticed. Perspectives are always tough but they're a fun challenge to work with.

I loved this when I saw the doodle-sketch and I love it even more now! I just think its so brilliant that you chose to draw an unusual angle, it's like he's turning around to talk to someone in the back seat XD "Don't make me reach back there" (although his face is more neutral-amused), or else doing a 180 degree "turn and stare at that woman crossing the street"
I'm always so curious about his wrist scars

ExplosiveCoffee In reply to Sleyf [2015-07-16 06:45:32 +0000 UTC]
Thanks! The angle is a bit of an odd one, but I never did think about the possible situation around it. It's unlikely that somebody else would be in the car with him as a driver, unless it couldn't be helped. If it were the case, he'd definitely be less than amused about the people complaining how he drives like he's in a war zone. But the other option seriously sounds like something he would do. A day off from being shot at and a pretty girl? He would be 'conveniently missing' for a while.ย
Ah yes, those scars. Lol, that was something added quite recent (given the relative time these OCs have been around). I was actually considering doing something in getting around to explain where it came from. It'd also be a good lesson of how to not get out of handcuffs.

Back-seat drivers lol "shuddup back there and let me drive" *car does an amazing, and frankly impossible, jump over an 18 wheeler*
Lol well who would blame him, no one wants to be shot at *goes missing forever*
Oh my god...I'm both curious and imagining him gnawing at his wrists...or else trying to squeeze his hand through ouch ouch ouch

Reminds me of my dad, it made driving with him such a stressful experience, cause out of nowhere he could suddenly shout at you to change lanes or something. But crazy driving's pretty common place in movies nowadays, I mean one day someone's going to come up with cars being used as makeshift rockets or something.
I draw the line at gnawing limbs off, that's a horrifying image. BUT you kinda got it right, he practically destroyed one hand by forcing it off to avoid getting Tony and himself killed. It worked but no one's going to get that image out anytime soon.

*swerves out of control in shock*
I know, and they make it look so easy, like anyone can do it on a whim like a professional rally-racer.ย Well in "Transporter" (one of them, honestly I don't remember anything in those films except what I am about to say) - an Audi leapt onto a train, off of a bridge - because you know everyone can just do that with no practice and no thought and get it spot on without the car flying off and crashing in a fiery inferno - I joked with my sister and told her I expect her to do that with her Audi the next time she drives it.
The only car I could ever believe is a rocket would be the Bat Mobile.
That guy trapped in a rockslide did it...though honestly...that would take a lot of bravery and desperation.ย Ouch yeah ouch, just thinking of that makes me cringe, it's bad enough sometimes when you get a tight bangle and need to squeeze it off - I imagine a handcuff would break his thumb at the worst

ExplosiveCoffee In reply to Sleyf [2015-07-25 13:30:41 +0000 UTC]
Well, I've seen enough horrifying crashes in rally racing in the news. With cars flying and somehow landing on people because of wrong terrain. Though the Transporter series set a whole new bar for car gymnastics, and new expectations for Audis. Talk about false marketing when you realise your new car do get dents (or come with a driver like that). I'd trust the Bat Mobile more if you ask me ;D
True, with the right circumstance, and the stomach for it. Still a scary thought though, but then I freak out even at the thought of getting bangles stuck on you. I know a few people (young and old) who have those jade bracelets that eventually grew on them to the point they physically cannot remove it unless it was cut.ย Well, you're right he broke most of the fingers of his left hand, which couldn't be treated because his wrist needed to managed first. Luckily the guy's ambidextrous during the time.ย

That's nasty and horrible, I've seen loads of car crashed on the roads to work (yes, people seem to think it's the Grand Prix and don't care about their lives or the lives of others - I don't care if they want to kill themselves, but think about other people and their lives).
I know right? (although I could do without the driver and his cheesy one-liners and growly attitude comments).
I'd trust the Bat Mobile too, that thing had massive wheels (the new one I mean) the old one was stylish but I tend to...doubt it could jump trains.
Rings are worse - especially if you're trying them out in the shop and people think you were attempting to shoplift "Nooo it just got stuck I swear".
Ouch really?ย I know people keep them on for ages but...you'd think they'd notice it was getting a bit snug.
People say it hurts when you break your thumb, I can only imagine how much it hurts breaking all your fingers, and then the work afterwards needed to exercise the fingers again to be able to use them - ouch - generally the thought of any broken bone makes me cringe.ย Lucky indeed! If he wasn't I bet her learned how pretty fast

Daaaaanteeee, mah lad~ But really, he's probable my top favourite among your characters!
Car interiors are really hard - it's a really small space and we're used to see it up close but not to drawing it. And woah, that's a posh car! AND I REALLY HOPE HE'S LOOKING BACK LIKE THAT IN A PARKED STATIONARY CAR

ExplosiveCoffee In reply to Oly-RRR [2015-07-14 10:19:24 +0000 UTC]
Naw, thanks for that, I appreciate it. Lol, he's got a charm to him, though that can't be applied to most of the things he's done *is bricked*.
I know! Lol, the model itself (a '67 Mustang) is probably not fancy as the typical European sportscar but I'll use the excuse that it was well maintained/modified to look new. Though luckily, unlike his partner, he's never gotten urges to drive over people with a car (but then no one WANTS to be in any four-wheeled vehicle with him). Niko on the other hand puts road rage at a whole new level.
