Description Pretty much what would happen after particularly difficult job. It'd start with Niko (in a mildly pain-killer induced haze) using her ever-so-diligent partner as a pillow. Dante wouldn't move to make sure she'd keep still, and maybe avoid the bitching if he did move her. Keeping him company (and making full use of the portable heater, despite his constant yapping) Rena would probably share bad TV commentary. AJ, after hearing them would join in, even if that meant leaning against someone's leg. Tony would find them last, after noticing the lack of noise, before finding a spot for himself.

Something actually warm-and-fuzzy. Cause they do show they care for each other aside from snarky banter and the occasional fight. Though if asked about it anytime later no one will own up to it.

Tried something with an odd combination of cell-shading and line-shading, no idea what the hell was going on, BUT things get finished faster.  Seems like a good idea for future quick doodles and whatnot.

Just as well they got that sofa, huh.

Oh yes indeed. Even if there isn't, there's always the floor

I like the variety of poses here. It's extremely lifelike. Could almost pass for an actual photo put through a photoshop filter. You are doing excellent work here, coffee that explodes.

Thank you! Lol, that's probably because I dug through references and personal experience (cause watching people sleep is "researching").

I really appreciate that comment, penguin that sets things on fire.

Lol! This is fantastic! I love all their different poses and how they reflect their personalities. You're really good at drawing cuts and bruises as well- I'm envious of that skill along with your grasp of anatomy and perspective! Plus that's one heck of a big sofa!

Haha, cause who doesn't love stuff with the warm-fuzzies? The poses did take a bit cause you're right, I did want something that'd look like it'd show their personality.

Pfft, the only reason I'm comfortable drawing injuries/cuts/etc is because I love putting them in situations that'd get them (seriously) injured. Not very nice when you think about it, but it's "builds character".

It needs to be if they needed to fit that many people! They're by no means small, with minor exception of Rena possibly (the shorty). After one too many occasions where too many ended up on the floor or limbs being in places they should, they all agreed to get a giant one.

The posing in this is fantastic!  I really like Niko's position.  I'm impressed that you got a rather extreme pose to look pretty natural and relaxed.

Thanks! It was quite a fun exercise in practicing sleeping poses and whatnot. Niko's was the favorite to do. It was referred from those ways my cats would sleep in, comfortable looking but odd to look at. Now if only I could ever lie on someone like that, lol.

YESSS YOU FINISHED IT

Now this is even more adorable! Dante's long tired face is my favourite (as it often is)! Or Niko! I can't choose!!

And I like these experiments with style/rendering/stuff you've been doing lately, I like how it looks and it sounds like it's making things easier for you too!

AND IT DIDN'T TAKE SEVERAL MONTHS

Lol, when asleep they're totally passable for adorable and/or harmless. At least it's something other than the 'default' set of emotions either those two would show, keeping a perma-scowl's tiring work. But Niko's amused me more, cause she's got no time for dignified sleeping faces (but all the time to hog as much space as possible).

It's quite fun, and probably about time for some experimenting. :

Haha, true, everyone looks more harmless than usual when asleep!

AJ is going to have the worst kind of headache or earache when she wakes up after leaning on Niko's knee like that, ouch.  I notice how Tony has commandeered many cushions in a nest around him, and he's going to have really bad neck-ache *points at all the joint pains everyone will suffer*, they do all look warm and cosy and fuzzy official naptimes should be enforced

ExplosiveCoffee In reply to Sleyf [2015-08-16 08:37:39 +0000 UTC]

Haha, she's actually been in worse sleeping conditions (Niko too), so this wouldn't actually ruin the sleep itself. But you're right though, she will definitely feel something when she wakes up.

If the other pillows hadn't been taken, or if he could find anymore, Tony would probably just build up a pillow fort. There's probably a wish that a little wall of pillows will give him a few hours of peace and quiet. Pfft, compared to the near-frequent shopping list of injuries the others would get, I think he'd prefer neck-aches.

Lol, they probably should do it more often. Who knows what could it do to curb the chronic crankiness amongst some of them.

Sleyf In reply to ExplosiveCoffee [2015-08-17 08:28:27 +0000 UTC]

When people mention worse sleeping conditions I imagine being trapped in a suitcase or something lol (who knows, maybe she hid in one at some point in her life).

Aww someone make that man a pillow fort!  He doesn't ask for much, they could do that for his birthday instead of having to buy anything lol - the cheapskate option "we made you your own padded cell"
Yeah they all look painfully beat up, that bruise on Rena's leg looks particularly nasty

Well they do say that naps are good for you - although sometimes you wake up with a headache and then can't actually get to sleep at night when you're meant to

Suitcases sound extreme (and claustrophobic inducing), though now that you've mentioned it, it could've been a good place to hide in. AJ would find anywhere that no one could see her. Niko's lived on the streets before, so boxes were a regular for her.

Lol they should! He'd probably appreciate it more than the tacky birthday gifts they often give him.  But at least there's the thought that counts too, IF he ever needed a padded cell, there's already one for him.

Unfortunately, once old injuries go away, they (mostly just Dante and Niko) walk back into messes to get new ones. Rena, normally doesn't take part in the action, but if she has, rest assured whoever did the number of her leg didn't live too long after that.

Naps depend on time I think, and like you said WHEN you go to bed too. I've yet to find the perfect time, cause it can either be too short or 'holy hell what year am I in?'.

I'm proud to say I can fit in one...not that I'd want to be zipped into it though lol, and cardboard boxes are kind of cosy!  Though again, not that I'd like to sleep in one...

Lol, awww but tacky gifts are forever, pillow forts only last as long as you get into them and then they're collapsed by the people who built them! Lol what?  Tell me they have a padded cell and you'll have made my day

Ouch, though i bet once they get a broken bone the injury is more likely to happen again as it's already been compromised.  They probably have epic amounts of scar tissue...
Well yeah ouch it's a horrible bruise!  Now how can she wear short skirts without that ugly thing showing?

Lol, you know what's weird though, on the times I decide to nap, I can fall asleep in no time, even with light streaming in through the windows - yet when I HAVE to sleep at night, it sometimes takes hours...

Before I go "wow, such amaze", is this actually a suitcase that doesn't look like it could smuggle several goats inside? Is it one of those that could still be pulled along without being questioned by authorities?

Haha, definitely something forever. Tony's got a pile of really tacky souvenirs and birthday gifts somewhere. Though at least there's some he could recycle and give his daughter instead. Well, they have a sort-of padded cell/panic room after someone's impressively murderous drug trip nearly killed him and another. On less serious notes, it also doubles like a time-out room for adults.

Oh definitely. Occasional bouts of clumsiness from either one of them is just from the reason of past injuries being a pain. But they do get into bouts of "you look like you got hit by an army of lawnmowers" or "you look like a patchwork doll'.

There's always heavy makeup, which she has done in the past. Or just wear very, very long boots…even during summer. All you need's something to distract it away~

no it's er...medium sized...like not the tiny one - though if I pushed myself I could probably fit in that!  Humour me!

I have seen them! Oh no, regifting is an offence Tony!
you know if they put a tv with speakers in there it'd be their own tv-cinema room, my sister and her husband "made" one of those in their apartment with more money than sense and it was actually very calming to be in

"why thank you, I did have to battle through a horse of crazed groundskeepers on the way over"

How come I never thought of any of those things!

ExplosiveCoffee In reply to Sleyf [2015-08-23 10:11:29 +0000 UTC]

Okay, then "wow such amaze". Don't do it, unless you're considering a career in contortionism.

Hmm, you do have a point. That room would probably have the weirdest sign "panic room/lock-up/theatre". They'd just remove the unnecessary ones depending on the use at that one time. Lol, it's interior design is not easy, it's amazing enough it's still calming.

Cause you're probably not the weird person googling these things for "reference" I google random shit like "how can one survive being slit at the throat" or "how long can someone survive being buried alive".

Sleyf In reply to ExplosiveCoffee [2015-08-24 09:02:59 +0000 UTC]

*basks in the praise she doesn't deserve* I'd rather not thank you

Nah they just keep the name on so they can trick whoever's going into it "let's just...go to the theatre...where its nice and relaxing" - after all, who is going to go quietly to a padded cell?
I actually once slept in there, the padding on the walls makes it cosy

Lol, you do know that somewhere out there someone might be monitoring your search results and labelling you as someone to watch either a potential murderer or a suicide risk (though I am intrigued now!)

ExplosiveCoffee In reply to Sleyf [2015-08-25 07:38:44 +0000 UTC]

Lol, it's almost as convincing as that stick-holding-a-box trap. Those who go quietly were probably sedated.  When you think about it, padded walls actually pretty smart. Head-on collisions won't hurt as much (though nobody should be encouraging that), and anywhere can become an improvised place to nap.

Huehuehue. I know, I'm not helping  my case if I were ever questioned about it. To be fair certain things are actually part of my studies. But the more obscure ones, like the two examples (amongst many crazier stuff), were plot relevant stuff at some point, Tony was buried alive (which remains unspecified cause I haven't figured details around it) and Dante had his throat slit (hence the two scars). Lol, but at least I know it catches attention, though it's cases like these that I've been told I'm too hard on OCs.

Sleyf In reply to ExplosiveCoffee [2015-08-26 07:50:47 +0000 UTC]

That stick-and-box trap works on someone i'm sure!  Someone particularly stupid or desperate to get whatever is under it.  I was tempted to throw myself at the walls a few times but changed my mind (never head on though! Like a belly flop)
Well not everywhere, the middle of a highway for instance might be difficult to nap on

"I was curious!" would not work, neither would "I was doing research" - in fact this last one might lead to more questions.  Did you get your answers?  The one I looked for recently was "can you survive with half a live?" - the answer is yes, and it actually regenerates (I learned something new!)
No way!  That only means you love them more!  All the ones I favour are bombarded with abuse...
