Been vrowsing your gallery and am loving your work. Never seen anyone work in a similar way to myself so I was very excited to view your awesome images. This image is by far my favourite of all your images. I think conceptually it is the strongest piece. It has so many connotations and reminds me very much of my own concepts in 'Always Here' that you commented upon. Colour tends to distract me in photographic works but this one I absolutely love. I am within yet also on the outer. To me theh image suggests emotional isolation.Although one can be part of a group intrinsically they are always alone. I think I am talking shit now. Anyway I love your work and this is definately a fav of mine.

Can't wait to see some more works.

Thanks heaps Fidelia, it's awesome to find people who can relate to producing this kind of photo. I'm rapt you get something out of it, and welcome to the watch-list!

I've got a few pieces almost ready to post at the moment, I just have to add my borders and twist some knobs in Photoshop. I'll make sure at least one of them is black and white, just for you.

Yay, I am very excited about seeing some more of your awesome photos. I will be looking forward to a black and white one for sure. I definately love a strong conceptual image that is sophisticated in its technical aspects as well. I must say I am so pleased to have found your beautiful images. You have inspired me to get over my photo block.

Thanks

I've just submitted your black and white (or, at least, monochrome) pic here . I hope it meets your expectations

this instantly reminded me of this work by the surrealist Magritte "La reproduction." [link] not only just stylistically but perhaps the way you can read into the image. Your model is not looking into a mirror but like magritte's work i think it makes you ask questions about how people percive things. Perhaps she only sees a bland black image when really she is filled with something special.

Ah! the freedom of having an opinion that potentially has nothing to do with the artists intention.

Keep it up though! I must see more.

Hrm, good comparison! It does looks similarly themed. Funny enough, that was actually my intention.
More to come

nice picture: lots of expression in the model, which is cool given that she's not even facing the camera. and for once weird framing really works, giving even more weirdnesses in terms of separated realities:
now you have, model, projection on model, shadow of model, model existing outside of the photograph (so the shadow and the model have another layer of reality inbetween them, wheee!), contemplating shadow inside photograph, aarrghh
what fun!

Hehe, thanks man - sounds like you really "got" this one
I'm digging the comic-style frames. Might have a few of those coming up if the mood suits. I think somehow it puts more attention on the "space" feeling (I always try to have 3D "space" in my pics) and draws more attention to the projection because you're thinking "What else is different"?
