Description
I sit here with the Mogwai going loud andDiscussions of poetry ringing around my head
Like Saturn and her rings, golden, wedding her to
So many moons, words about words.
Poetry is for tasting, honey,
Rather than autopsies and
Scientific histories.
How we have loved,
Loving moments and
Connections
How we have Celebrated
Fictional moments never
accepting we are as we are
as
We would rather be.
We put ourselves together
one word at a time
Remembering
Not with memories
But as an opposite
Poetry is not an autopsy
A biopsy
Poetry is the opposite of everything that cuts
Clean
Poetry tears us together, bloody and new.

We would rather be.
This is perfect, especially how you put it on it's own line

Thank you. Β I have Anton Frost to thank for that, he's a fantastic talent that we are lucky to have on DA. Β For example:Β www.deviantart.com/art/almost-β¦

Ah yes, Anton. He gets published around, too

Yes, and yet he seems to be sadly under-recognized here on dA.

It's better to be recognized out in the real (publishing) world, anyways. All you really need on dA is a few partners in crime

That makes sense.
Thing with dA is that the ones that really matter in your network can really help you become a better artist.

You really just need a few that aren't afraid to really dig into your work

Ain't that the truth.
Okay, honestly, should I be pursuing publication?

I don't see why not
You have a fairly similar style, from what I've read, as Anton. You may want to look into some of the places he's published (since he puts them up) and submit there. Mmmm also maybe vox poetica. They're pretty chill

Sorry for the slow reply on this. Β My life continues to have a bad habit of jumping the rails on a fairly regular basis.
I really appreciate your encouragement, and yeah... I think i'm going to go ahead.

I'm having a hard time wrapping my head around the fact that I haven't written anything in about a month. Β But at the same time I'm having a hard time getting my feet back under me. Hopefully in the next day or three.

I've started a part time job and I'm back at school so everyday I'm dealing with creative stuff, just not my own.
on top of that, I'm working on a paying web gig where I'm getting behind.
I've got a lot of fantastic ideas for the Compact Stories project and I have a bunch of poetry titles working their way through my brain.Β
I keep hoping to work on my web portfolio, catching up on web dev related reading, poetry, short stories, music, and visual art... but School, Work and Clients need to come first. Β And I keep on thinking about submitting my stuff for publication.
I don't think things are changing overnight, but I need to develop some more controls over my life.
