and i tried to stop your own inner destruction with a ball and chain wrapped around my ankle.
but your skull seems to be thicker than your ego.
inhaling compliments and nicotine
while exhaling your own pity, i must say we have grown apart.
however, i cannot find the time to care.
your body has been tainted
and i no longer yearn to fill my ears with your crude comments
about other bones.
you are the embodiment of 'desperation'.
while they gossip about your heart
you are wrapped up in the whispers
with disgusting interest.
i remember when you were innocent-
or close to it.
but that has grown into a mask of running mascara.
i cannot see how you can breath
with abandonment shoved down your throat.

I like this, I like how you saw it fall into place, words as tracks, beginning to end. Very clean, well paced. I'd probably have used different language, but that's because I write different poetry. It's good that you're dabbling in poetry and freewriting, it's good exercise. Literary sudoku.

Thanks, it's an excellent stress reliever. Plus I can get my mind into the feel of writing so I won't be so reluctant to start writing once again once the eleventh rolls around
