Description
Goal: Vision for sustainability.What: Digital matte painting
Who: All photographic images and painting by Bret Malley. No Stock Photography used.
How: Stone by stone, branch by branch. Close to 300 layers.
Where: I shot many of these images in the following locations: California (sierras), upstate NY, Peru, Portugal, and Spain.
Time: Several weeks non-stop

I must say, my friend, this must be the single most incredible piece of photo-manipulation work I have ever witnessed. The way you've put it together is so picturesque and detailed that one could stare at it for hours and still have more to find. I love how you took the photographic pieces a step further and made the entire work look like a digital painting. Normally when I see photo-manips, they looks awkwardly thrown together; but this -- this is magic -- and this is art.

Incredibly stunning imagery. This definitely could be considered gold at the end of the rainbow for most. The depth and perception is quite impressive. The wide array of plant life signifies the wonders of this place.

This is amazing! Everything is so perfectly put in place and all the lighting really adds to the fantasy atmosphere, in my opinion! The colours are also gorgeous and I love the contrast between the green earth and orange sky ^^
It's also very nice to see a little bit of Portugal contributing to such a beautiful scenery

Though I'm not a huge fan of matte painting or photomanipulation, this one is very beautiful and truely deserves more recognition on DA.

I'd suggest you checking out Philip Straub's artworks, if you don't already know his art. The golden atmosphere in your beautiful artwork reminds me of some of his matte paintings.
