Daughter of Catastrofica Butterfly, “The Merfolk”, granddaughter of Universa, “The Almighty Goddess” and great-granddaughter of Star Butterfly, “The First one”, Opera is sister of Amando Butterfly and half-sister of Mina Butterfly Loveberry. Known for her mighty musical spells and her crimson clothes, Opera was the first Queen Butterfly to use black magic in an unreasonable way and was also the most dangerous of her time.
With music-based hypnotic spells, mental destruction, memory blackouts and sound blasts, she ruled Mewni and protected her kingdom in an extraordinarily cruel manner, spreading chaos for her enemies, and so was loved by her people, though never seen the queen’s face.
Despite being loved (even more by the bourgeoisie, who were always invited to their fancy parties and their concerts), no one knew how cruel she was, since she took her mother into a monster trap, which consequently killed her, to ascend the throne at age 17 and killed her brother Amando a year later, so that no one could take her from the throne. In the same month, Opera had a daughter with a Prince Schimmig of the Night kingdom.
She reigned for 36 years but was murdered by an assassin on her birthday, hired by her daughter Asteroid.
