With the Keybaldes you are destined to be on the side of light or darkness with Heartless following you to the end of the earth you are destined to fight and stay in the light or be consumed by the darkness.
Wielding a Keyblade kind of sucks now unless you enjoy always traveling around and having fight after fight everywhere you go.
