Oi, the symbolism! In case you don't know much about Ancient Egypt, the scarab on her wrist represents rebirth. It was believed that the scarab was responsible for rolling the sun away at night. Hence the sun she is holding which is also supported by the scarab. Another symbol of rebirth was the lotus flower, which is in her hair. The blood on her wrist is in the shape of the Nile River (I swear, she isnt emo). Her umbilical cord is blue to represent another aspect of the Nile, which supported all life. I wanted to draw an ankh somewhere, since it was sometimes interpreted as the union of a womb and a penis, thus creating life. Woo, so yeah, I'm a dork.

3 days, because I'm lazy. Watercolors, watercolor pencils, oil pastels, caligraphy ink, and archival ink.

I know it's slightly messy, but I like it that way I think it makes the womb look more welcoming or something weird like that.
